November 2023: The Month I Saw My Fave Band Live & It’s Still Everything I Think About

November 2023: Monthly Wrap Up

Hi everybody and welcome to my November wrap up! I feel like I say this almost every month, but it feels like November flew by in a blur. I didn’t read or watch as much as I may have wanted to, but overall it was a good month still. Mostly because I saw my fave band live for the first time and IT WAS EVERYTHING. So let’s just dive into my November wrap up!

What I Read

Caught Up (Windy City #3) by Liz Tomforde

I’ve been really enjoying this sports romance series so far and the third installment is no exception! This was an adorable single parent romance with lovely slow-burn, banter, chemistry and a nice emphasis on family.

The Fragile Threads of Power by V.E. Schwab

I loved being reunited with all of my favorite characters. This was another epic installment, and yet it also felt like it was just setting up for more epicness. I’m especially intrigued as to what will happen in White London with new character Kosika. But more than that, I just want more of Lila and Kell and Rhy and Alucard and I can also add Tes to that list of beloved characters now.

I Want To Die But I Want To Eat Tteokbokki by Baek Sehee

This is a non-fiction memoir and is basically a collection of transcripts from the author’s sessions with her therapist. It’s a unique format and insightful, honest and relatable. Though at times I struggled with the writing because it felt a bit all over the place. But overall, some very relatable parts and highly quotable.

The Long Game by Elena Armas

Though it took me a long time to get through the first few chapters (through no fault of the book, just me struggling with the darkness of wintertime and falling asleep at 8 every night), I still ended up highly enjoying this small-town romance between an exiled soccer exec and a retired soccer player teaming up to coach a little girl’s team. It was slow-burn and the chemistry oozed and there were anxious baby goats and temperamental cats and a runaway rooster called Sebastian Stan. Obviously, I loved that.

What I Listened To

This month I finally got to see one of my all-time favorite bands live: Against The Current. The concert was amazing and naturally I’ve pretty much listened to their songs all month.

Against The Current

Here’s an (older) live clip from one of my favorite ATC songs to prolong my concert vibes <3

What I Watched

As I mentioned above, I’ve been really struggling with the darkness of winter and the gloomy weather this month and that resulted in hardly being able to stay awake long enough to watch anything this month. Better luck next month!

Life Update

Well, honestly this month has been trademarked by darkness and gloominess (and sleepiness). It went by in a blur, but of course there were some highlights too!

THINGS THAT MADE ME HAPPY THIS MONTH:

  • I saw my fave band (Against The Current) live and it rocked! And, before the concert, we had Korean food so basically I was one happy camper πŸ™‚
  • Met up with some (former)coworkers/friends at a chocolate bar and it was fun to catch up AND have hot chocolate and a brownie to go with that.

THINGS I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:

  • The overall holiday vibes all month long (and I’m hoping to get in some holiday movies and books too!)
  • I have 1,5 week off at the end of the month and I’m definitely looking forward to a week of chilling on the sofa, armed with a blanket and a hot chocolate.
  • Dove Cameron is releasing her first full-length album!
  • The new Percy Jackson tv series!

How was your November? What did you read? What did you listen to and what did you watch? What are you looking forward to in December?

Lindsey xoxo
