Top Ten Tuesday

Books That Made Me Hungry & The Food They Made Me Crave

Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

Hi everybody, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!

Today’s all about food, which is good because I love food! Well, I love the eating it part at least, though I’m not a huge fan of the actual making it part… But weirdly enough, I also love reading about food! I like when a book makes me crave a certain food. Of course, this is best if said food is within easy reach, which is not always the case.

But oh well, here are some books that made me reallyyy hungry, and the food they made me crave!

Tell Me Three Things by Julie Buxbaum

Waffles

They’re not only on the cover but the characters talk about them, eat them and talk about the verb ‘to waffle’ which isn’t a food but still made me hungry.

American Panda by Gloria Chao

Dumplings

I was craving dumplings so badly while reading this. Darn it, I’m craving dumplings now.

Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

Oreos

This book introduced me to Oreo cookies and now I’m obsessed with all kids of Oreo-goodness, but most of all Oreo icecream and Oreo cheesecake, yum.

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han

Cupcakes and other baked goods

Lara Jean loves to bake and I love to read about her creations, which I also want to eat but unfortunately can’t because they’re in a book and not on my table.

Alex, Approximately by Jenn Bennett

Churros

I love churros but I don’t get to eat them enough. These characters have churro stands in their town and I am so jealous.

Tweet Cute by Emma Lord

Burgers, grilled cheese sandwiches AND baked goods

Yes, SO MUCH FOOD! Both characters’ families own a food establishment (fast-food chain, hence the burgers, and deli, hence the grilled cheese sandwiches), are fighting about a grilled cheese recipe (mmmm, cheese) and to top all of that food stuff, one character also loves baking and blogs about it. ALL THE FOOD, I CAN’T HANDLE IT!

Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert

PIZZA!

Look, I don’t remember all the details about this book I read years ago, but I remember the pizza. I’ll always remember the pizza.

Taming Demons for Beginners by Annette Marie

Cupcakes and cookies

In this book, a girl who loves to bake finds herself in a contract with a demon over cookies. Yes, cookies. Turns out, demons have a sweet tooth. Demons and I have that in common!

Also, the glorious ice cream trio:

  1. Really should have included the LJ books on my list. Her baking is part of the charm of the series! I have Julie’s on my list despite the fact that I haven’t yet read it. 🙂

Simon Vs. really does make you want Oreos. That sounds so good right now. LOL I love food, but I don’t like making it either.
