Bookish Wishes: Books I Wish Were Available Now Already

20230613 Bookish Wishes

Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

Hi everybody and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday! I’m twisting today’s topic a bit – instead of doing bookish wishes where I share my wishlist, I want to share my bookish wishes – meaning books I wish I could read now already, even if they’re still a long way from being released.

Note: I completely respect authors’ progress and the fact that they need time to write these books and still need some time to themselves as well. So I only mean this post in a good fun ‘if I could timetravel, I’d do it for these books’ kind of way, not at all in a complainy ‘these authors need to write faster’ kind of way 🙂

BlackFire by Annette Marie

Annette Marie’s Blackfire series

I’ve loved Annette Marie Steel and Stone series and her Spell Weaver series so much, so of course I’m super excited for the follow up series that will bring all of my favorite characters (*cough* Lyre *cough*) back!

The next Crescent City book

It’s coming in 2024, but that is sooo long! *
* On a similar note, I also would like to have the next ACOTAR book now, please and thank you.

The next book in the Alex Stern series

I know we just had Hell Bent this year, but I’m a greedy little reader and I want more now.

The next Six of Crows book

I heard there was gonna be more of the Crows, so naturally I’d really like that now please.

The final book in the Plated Prisoner series

I loved this series but I still need to finish it and plan a re-read before the final book releases so if I could start planning that, that would be great 🙂

The next books in the Crowns of Nyaxia series

This series will have 3 duets featuring different characters in the same world and I just read and adored the first duet – but I’m already aching for the second duet (and the third, let’s be honest).

The rest of the Fence series

The thing about comics is that I read them so quickly and then I have to wait so long for the next installment – which I also read super quickly. So if they could just all be released at the same time so I do not have to wait anymore, that would be very much appreciated 🙂

The Shadowhunter series featuring Ty and Kit

I know, I still need to read The Last Hours but I’ve been excited for the series featuring Kit and Ty (The Wicked Powers) since I heard it was planned, even if it may still be very far away.

And probably many more I just can’t think of right now 🙂

Tell Me:
Are you also (im)patiently waiting for any of these books?

  1. Waiting on the next book in a series we’re SO invested in or love is always tough. Hope these arrive sooner than you think, and that they’re amazing reads. 🙂

    1. Thanks so much, Rissi!

  2. I hope you get all of these books soon!

Here is my Top Ten Tuesday post.

    1. Thanks!

  3. It’s always great to have books to look forward to, even if the wait is hard!

    1. So true!

  4. Love your twist on the topic!

    1. Thanks!

  5. More Six of Crows? I’m trying to think if I thought there needed to be more or if I was happy where it left things. I can’t remember!

    1. I think I was happy with where they left it, but then I heard there might be more and I just knew I would love to read more too 🙂

  6. Sophie @BewareOfTheReader says:

I’d prefer the next ACOTAR to Crescent City LOL

    1. The next ACOTAR would be good for me too! Both would make me happy, haha 🙂

  7. I would love more Six of Crows and if I could time travel, I would definitely use that ability to travel to when we have another Six of Crows book. I do still have Rule of Wolves to read though so I can get some of my Crow fix through that. I’ve actually yet to read Hell Bent! I’m a fairly slow reader so often I don’t really mind if books in a series take a while to come out because I’m probably still working on the last one ha ha.

    1. Yes, let’s timetravel for more Six of Crows 🙂 But Rule of Wolves is indeed a good one to tide you over in the meantime!
I often try not to read series too quickly, because I prefer to binge them all together in a shorter time period, but sometimes I just can’t wait and then I usually regret it later because the wait is all the longer now 🙂

      1. I really need to get around to it at some point, I’ve just not been in the mood for hefty books in a while so all of my 500+ page books are piling up on my shelves, judging me! Ha ha there are pros and cons to both I guess, I remember binge reading all three of The Bone Season books over the summer of 2017 and then subsequently waiting four years until the fourth book came out so definitely swings both ways!

  8. I think it’s only natural to want our favorite writers to read faster! It’s a compliment, really. Good think we’re patient (ish).

    Happy TTT!

    1. So true! And haha yes, we’re definitely patient(ish) – focus on the ish 😀

  9. I need the next Crescent City book! And yes to more Six of Crows books too!

    1. Hope we’ll get both soon(ish) 🙂

  10. That’s a fun twist! I love it. Yes, there are several books I would have on a list like this too!

    1. Thanks!

  11. None of these are on my TBR, but l’ll look forward to your reviews.

    1. Thanks!
