Top Ten Tuesday

Twelve Random Books From My Shelves (As Picked By My Husband)

20230502 Random Books From My Shelves

Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

Hi everybody and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday! Today is (once again) a short and sweet post as we’re just randomly picking a few books from our shelves to highlight! I recruited my husband to randomly choose a few books, since I know too well what my shelves look like so it wouldn’t be super random that way. And I like what came out! Some old, some new, a few favorites I rave about a lot and a few books I love but haven’t talked about in a while, so overall a good mix πŸ™‚

From my physical shelf

Quite the selection! Hell Bent is my favorite read of 2023 so far. Dark Tempest is the second book in my all-time favorite series by my all-time favorite author. Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda is a YA classic that I can easily re-read constantly. And Eragon is an old favorite that I should really re-read some time soon.

From my ebook shelf

A fun and diverse mix! The Longing of Lone Wolves is the first book in a fantasy romance series that I enjoyed, but still need to continue with the rest of the series. Similar story with Payback’s a Witch, enjoyed it but need to read the rest of the series. The One and Only Crystal Druid is again a highly loved book by a highly loved author (only fitting that Annette Marie is in this post twice). And Big Little Lies is an old favorite!

From my audiobook shelf

Again, all favorites here! Legend & Lattes is a cozy fantasy I read this year and loved. The Wall of Winnipeg and Me is a contemporary romance by slow-burn queen Mariana Zapata. Under the Whispering Door is another all-time favorite by a favorite author. And The Worst Best Man was such a fun enemies-to-lovers romance that I really enjoyed.

    1. It’s an amazing read!

  2. I think I read about The Worst Best Man a long time ago, but I cannot remember what it’s about. However that cover is cuuute! πŸ™‚

    1. It definitely is a cute cover (and story too) πŸ˜‰

  3. Ha yes I recruited my son.
Some great books. I’ve quite enjoyed the Lana Harper series so far <3

  4. That’s a fun way to do it. Good job to your husband!

    My post:

    1. Thanks so much!

  5. I started Hell Bent a week ago, when I found that its sequel is also out. It’s intense but so good so far. And I really like Annette Marie’s work, fills up some much needed Urban Fantasy gaps in my reading life!

    1. Hell Bent and Annette Marie are some of my favorites for sure!

  6. Love Liane Moriarty! I need to read her latest. Fun take on the topic, too – I decided not to partake this week because I too know my shelves way too well!

    1. I need to catch up on Liane Moriarty books too! Thanks!

  7. So many great books here! I didn’t even think to randomly choose books from my kindle! I should have done a whole post on that alone. haha.

    1. Thanks! Haha, yes my physical shelves aren’t that large so my Kindle shelves were a must πŸ˜€

  8. I’ve read Hell Bent, Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, Payback’s a Witch and The One and Only Crystal Druid. All are favorites of mine! 😍

    1. Mine too! I’m so happy my husband picked them out, haha πŸ˜€

  9. I love that you asked him to pick from different shelves πŸ™‚ I’ve got a few of these on my TBR but Legends & Lattes is one of my all-time favourite comfy reads. Great picks!

  11. Big Little Lies!!! Love love that book!

    1. It was an awesome book! (And TV show!)

  12. That was a fun way of doing it. I think if I had asked my husband or son to do it they either would have picked my favorites that I have read or stressed over, LOL!

  13. Sophie @BewareOfTheReader says:

I also recruited my husband for this post for the exact reason you did! I know my shelves too well hahah IDK if I’d want him to look at my ebook shelf though lol shhhh

    My TTT:

    1. Haha I totally get that! I was expecting some comments about some of my ebook covers *ahem* but there were none πŸ˜€

  16. Ha! I love that you had your husband pick the books. πŸ™‚ Simon vs the Homo Sapiens is such a longtime favorite. I’ve reread that one many times. The Wall of Winnipeg and Me is the first one I ever read from Zapata. Love that one.
