20230110 Most Anticipated Books

Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

Hi everybody, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday! Today is a time to look at the time ahead and that’s fun because I have SO MANY AMAZING UPCOMING RELEASES to look forward to! Here are the 12 releases coming out in the first half of 2023 I’m looking forward to the most:

The Stolen Heir: A Novel of Elfhame by Holly Black

Release date: January 3rd 2023

I loved the Cruel Prince trilogy so of course Iā€™m super excited to go back to Elfhame!

Hell Bent (Alex Stern #2) by Leigh Bardugo

Release date: January 10th 2023

Iā€™m not exactly a fan of the cover, but I am super excited for the release of the sequel to Ninth House (aka one of my all-time favorites)! Bring on the Alex, Dawes and Darlington epicness <3

Mysteries of Thorn Manor (Sorcery of Thorns # 1.5) by Margaret Rogerson

Release date: January 17th 2023

Sorcery of Thorns is one of my favorite stories, so of course Iā€™m super excited weā€™re getting a sequel novella. Also tremendously happy that Margaret described it as ā€œa cozy, romantic comfort readā€ which sounds PERFECT to me!

Radiant Sin (Dark Olympus #4) by Katee Robert

Release date: February 7th 2023

This dark romance series based on Greek mythology has only been getting better and better with each book, so Iā€™m already super curious about this next installment (which is about Apollo and Cassandra)!

A Witch’s Guide to Fake Dating a Demon by Sarah Hawley

Release date: March 7th 2023

That title. That cover. And that synopsis? Umm, I never stood a chance.

Spell Bound by F.T. Lukens

Release date: April 4th 2023

I have loved both of F.T. Lukens previous books – they are the perfect fun, light fantasy reads and this one seems equally great already.

In the Lives of Puppets by TJ Klune

Release date: April 25th 2023

In the words of TJ Klune himself, In The Lives of Puppets is ā€œA queer retelling of Carlo Collodiā€™s The Adventures of Pinocchio starring an inventor named Victor, a mysterious android called Hap (Hysterically Angry Puppet), an anxiety-riddled Roomba vacuum named Rambo, and a sociopathic nursing machine, the Registered Automaton To Care, Heal, Educate and Drill (Nurse Ratched, for short).ā€ I mean, whatā€™s not to love? He had me at ā€œanxiety-riddled Roomba vacuum named Ramboā€œā€¦

Happy Place by Emily Henry

Release date: April 25th 2023

A friendcation and a second-chance romance? By Emily Henry? Yes please!

Meet Me at the Lake by Carley Fortune

Release date: May 2nd 2023

Every Summer After was one of my favorite books of 2023, so of course Iā€™m super excited to read a new novel by Carley Fortune! Iā€™m also getting some Before Sunrise/Before Sunset vibes from the summary, and thatā€™s only further endorsement in my eyes, as I love those movies.

The True Love Experiment by Christina Lauren

Release date: May 16th 2023

FIZZY IS GETTING HER OWN BOOK!!!

Fake Dates and Mooncakes by Sher Lee

Release date: May 16th 2023

Heartstopper meets Crazy Rich Asians? Fake dating? AND that cover?
Of course Iā€™m looking forward to reading this one!

Love, Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood

Release date: June 13th 2023

Ali Hazelwood is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors, so of course I’m looking forward to her next release!
