Books, Music & More I’m Thankful For In 2018 {Top Ten Tuesday}

Welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!

Today’s post is in honor of Thanksgiving in the US. While we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving in Belgium, I do think it’s a nice idea to take a minute and think about everything we’re thankful for. So that’s the meaning of today’s post. To take a minute and reflect on the things that I’ve been thankful for in 2018.

Now, obviously I’m mostly thankful for the people and love in my life. My husband, my family and my friends. They mean the world. Buta post thanking them would end up being an incredibly mushy and sentimental post and since this is in fact a bookish blog, I instead decided to list some books and other forms of entertainment I am thankful for. Because cheesy as it sounds, I am thankful for these. They have helped me in so many ways, so I’m taking the time to spotlight them and tell you why I’m thankful. Let’s go!

October 2018: The Month So Many Amazing New Releases Came Out So Of Course I Mostly Re-Read Old Favorites & Listened To One Song On Repeat {Monthly Wrap Up}

October 2018

Hi everybody, and welcome to my October wrap up!

AND ALSO, HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Given my recent personal developments, I’ve still been a little M.I.A. this month, so again apologies to all my blogger friends! I’m hoping to catch up with all your blogs very, VERY soon. In the meantime, I’m hoping you’ll all have an amazing Halloween! Let me know how you’ll be spending today!

On the reading front not a whole lot of actual reading happened either, but there were some amazing releases this month and some of those I already started on, so that’s a definite plus. Musically, I continued my trend of listening to the same band over and over again and tv-wise… nothing at all happened.

So let’s just get into what I did do during the magical month of October!

Books I’d Consider Selling My Soul For If I Could Read Them Today Already {Top Ten Tuesday}

Welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!

Today’s all about those books on our wishlist that we want so badly but are still so very far away.  Those books that we’d do anything for to be able to read them today, right now, pretty please. Yet, they are so far away, there’s not even covers or titles for some of these.

These are the books I want so badly that I might consider selling my soul for. Or probably something less drastic like give up the internet (say what?) or stop eating sugar (say what again?).

My 5 Star Predictions For The Rest of 2018 {Top Ten Tuesday}

180420 TTT 5 Star Predictions

Welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!

Today is a freebie topic and I have chosen to do the 5 star TBR prediction. Basically, I take a look at all the books on my TBR (more specifically in this case, my 2018 release TBR) and predict which books I think are very likely to become 5 star reads for me.

Though I personally would like to extend this to 4,5 to 5 star ratings. Why? Because in my personal rating system, there is not that much difference between a 4,5 star rating and a 5 star rating. The difference is really only in my reading experience. I could love two books equally and see no flaw in either, but the 5 star book  I may have enjoyed so much because I could read it in one sitting and was totally immersed while reading. While the 4,5 star book  I may have loved equally, but didn’t have the time to read in one sitting so I had to spread it out over 1-2 weeks of annoyingly interrupted reading. Meaning my reading experience for the 4,5 star book just wasn’t as fulfilling as the 5 star book, but that is in no way the book’s fault. I can’t blame my reading experience on the book now, can I? Nor is this something I can predict in any way.

So basically, what I’m trying to say is: these are the 2018 releases I’m predicting to give a 5 (or 4,5) star rating! I’m already super curious to come back at the end of the year and see how right (or wrong) I was 🙂
