Monthly Wrap Up

June 2026: The Month of Warpers and Voicemails

2026 Wrap up - June

Hi everybody, happy July and welcome to my June wrap-up! I didn’t read a whole lot this month but I still wanted to get my wrap up out, so here we go!

What I Read

This Inevitable Ruin (Dungeon Crawler Carl #7) by Matt Dinniman

7 books down, 1 to go (at least, only one left already released)! This Inevitable Ruin felt somehow even more fast-paced, non-stop action than the other books. Which makes sense, because it’s faction wars, which means… well… war. I liked this one, and I loved the conclusion to the whole Donut/Katia/Blood Sultanate dilemma. 4,5 STARS

Conquering Reality & Other Misconduct (The Guild Codex: Warped #6) by Annette Marie and Rob Jacobsen

Overall, this was an epic finale. It gave me everything I wanted for a finale and everything I’ve come to expect from Annette Marie books: an intricate magical world, lovable characters, the best found family vibes, a lot of action and ton of heart. It’s fun, it’s entertaining and it’s highly addictive. It may be over, but I’m ready to start again from the beginning… 5 STARS [Full review]

Our Perfect Storm by Carley Fortune

Carley Fortune books have been a bit hit or miss for me, but I’m happy to say Our Perfect Storm was a hit. I loved the friends to lovers story, combined with the beautiful Tofino setting, complex characters and amazing chemistry. 4 STARS

What I Listened To

Emei – Night at the Opera

After last month’s (and let’s be honest, this month’s too) obsession with Off Campus and the Off Campus soundtrack, this artist came into my social media feed and I fell in love, so thank you algorithm for this one!

What I Watched

I definitely watched a lot more than I read this month:

Romance is a Bonus Book (Rewatch)

I rewatch this show at least once a year and I still adore it. It’s my ultimate comfort show! See my full rave here.

Every Year After Season 1

Every Summer After is one of my favorite books, so I had really high hopes for this one… but unfortunately it didn’t live up to them. I didn’t like these main characters. At all. The changes they made to the story were a real disadvantage to them, as they highlighted all their worst aspects and all the redeeming parts from the book were missing or didn’t come through enough. What I did like was the bigger focus on the secondary characters. Especially Jordie is amazing!

Voicemails for Isabelle

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! I cried, I laughed, I cried some more. Can’t say a single bad thing about this movie.

XO Kitty Season 3

Simple, easy, and fun. Just what I needed this month!

The Boroughs Season 1

This is a new show by The Duffer Brothers on Netflix about strange things happening in a retirement community. Unfortunately this show is already cancelled, as I really loved this one! It was a fun, slightly spooky and fantastical adventure with a great cast. Luckily, I thought the ending wrapped everything up nicely, so at least it didn’t end on a major cliffhanger.

Life Update

June was exhausting. My mom found out in May that she had to move to another apartment (in the same city), and she had to do so by the end of June. My mom is also not in the best health and needed a lot of help from me and my brother. My brother was also expecting his second daughter around the beginning of July so his help was understandably more limited. Which meant most of the stuff fell upon my shoulders. There were also multiple delivery issues surrounding a broken fridge and freezer in a heatwave… fun stuff.

But she has now moved and most of the stuff has been taken care of AND my new niece was born just this weekend!!

Because of all that, my blogging has been inconsistent, and may continue to be inconsistent for a while yet, so please bear with me. I really am quite exhausted. I’m posting and commenting when I can and feel okay, but my energy and motivation are at a very low level right now and I may take a summer hiatus soon, to be determined.

THINGS THAT MADE ME HAPPY THIS MONTH:

  • Voicemails for Isabelle – such a nice movie!
  • I went to a one-day festival and saw Linkin Park and Papa Roach.
  • My new niece being born (technically she was born in July but for the sake of this (belated) wrap up, I’m adding it here… and maybe again in my July wrap up for maximum positivity πŸ˜‰)

THINGS I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:

  • Hopefully lots more time to relax and clear my head than the past two months.

How was your June? What did you read? What did you listen to and what did you watch? What are you looking forward to in July?

Lindsey xoxo

  4. I’m working my way through DCC as well! I’m torn between whether I want to devour it (yes) or savor it (because, you know, it isn’t finished yet).

    1. I just finished A Parade of Horribles this week! I’d say savor it, but I also know that’ll be very tricky if you’re loving the series πŸ™‚
