Hi everybody, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday! Today I’m listing the books that live in my head rent free. This isn’t a difficult one, as I have loads of books and book series that live in my head rent-free. The difficulty is stopping at ten…
My apologies as this list may be verrrry predictable. I talk about these books all the time. But that’s why they live in my head rent-free right?

Dungeon Crawler Carl series by Matt Dinniman – My most recent obsession. I talk about this series all the time. When I said what the topic was for today’s post, my husband’s first words were “Dungeon Crawler Carl”. Yep, Dungeon Crawler Carl!
Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas – One of the originals. I did a series re-read last year and it still holds up as one of my all-time favorites. It’s sooo good. Hence why it’s in this list.
Red Winter series by Annette Marie – Another obvious one. I love all books by this author, but Red Winter is special. I re-read it almost yearly, it’s such a comfort series to me.
Alex Stern series by Leigh Bardugo – It’s not finished yet, but I am so looking forward to the next book in the series releasing soon.
Heated Rivalry by Rachel Reid – The TV series was soo good, it really set the bar for book adaptations. I only read these in December last year, but I still think about Shane and Ilya daily.
Funny Story by Emily Henry – I love all Emily Henry books, but this one is my favorite hands down!
Lovelight Farms by B.K. Borison – Another yearly re-read. It’s my first B.K. Borison, but still my favorite to this day.
With Love, From Cold World by Alicia Thompson – Asa owns my heart. Also, who would have guessed I have not one, but two Christmas-themed books on this list? Not me!
The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune – A warm hug in book format. Another cozy comfort re-read.
Dear Aaron by Mariana Zapata – Slow burn romance and pen pal romance. This book owns my heart.

Tell Me:
Do we have any of these in common?

I feel a little less alone reading your post – I feel as though I need to apologize for my list every week because it always seems “the same.” 😀 But I guess it’s a good sign if we want to reshare the same books, right!?! 😉 Glad you have some fab rent-free books!
I definitely think it’s a good sign if we repeat the same books often 🙂 It means we really, really love them and want them to find even more readers that will enjoy them!
Ah, Cerulean Sea, Heated Rivalry, DCC… All of those could’ve definitely gone on my list as well! I also wound up sharing more than 10 because it was too difficult to stop 😂
Haha, I know, often the difficulty is finding 10 examples but for this post the difficulty was limiting it to 10! 🙂
Dear Aaron sounds interesting.
It’s a really nice, slow pen pal romance 🙂
I love Dungeon Crawler Carl!
Yay, so glad to hear it! 😀
Have a good week. Here is my TTT. https://dmhoisington.wordpress.com/2026/07/21/top-ten-tuesday-36-books-that-live-in-my-head-rent-free/
I should have put Heated Rivalry on my list!
This is one topic where it’s good to have more books than ten to feature for sure 😀
Thanks for sharing your #TTT
Thanks for stopping by!
Hell yeah, Dungeon Crawler Carl!!! I am obsessed with it too and I love that your husband knows to expect it from you 😂

Haha yes I’ve been talking his ears off about Dungeon Crawler Carl these past few months 😀
A great list. I enjoyed House in the Cerulean Sea. I tried to vary my list, but like you say favourite books tend to feature a lot 😂
Have a great week!
Haha indeed that’s why they’re favourites 😀
Exactly 😂
I should be getting Dungeon Crawler Carl soon! And of course I agree with Ninth Hous especially!
I hope you’ll love Dungeon Crawler Carl! And yay Ninth House – I want to start my re-read soon 🙂
I am glad you unapologetically presented your list, LOL! I felt that same way, that I always talk about the same books. I will say, several of these are new to me, so you haven’t talked about them on weeks I’ve been by, LOL! Have a good week!
Haha that’s good too hear, that means I can probably afford to talk about them even more often 😉
I still haven’t read The House in the Cerulean Sea 😅 The cover is so gorgeous and I’ve heard so many good things about it, but I just haven’t had the time. It’s the same situation with Dungeon Crawler Carl – literally everyone is raving about it and I’m just here…in my lil box of shame waiting for the right moment and mood to strike 😂
Haha as a mood reader too, I definitely know the feeling 😀
I’ve heard wonderful things about many of these books. Yet, I have still not read them.
Here’s my TTT for the week: https://readbakecreate.com/my-seven-favorite-holiday-reads-of-2025/
I hope you’ll enjoy them if and when you read them! 🙂
I NEED to read Throne of Glass! It has been on my TBR for a while and I keep hearing lovely things about it as a whole. That B.K. Borison book looks gorgeous as usual for her. Nice post!

Throne of Glass is one of my ultimate favorites for sure! I hope you’ll love it when you get to it!
I just finished watching Heated Rivalry last week. I didn’t realize that they were the second book! I read book one but need to continue the series. Throne of Glass is one that I almost put on my list too!
Oh, I hope you enjoyed the show! I read book two and book six but still need to read the other books in the series 😀
Haha, one of these days, I’ll catch up! I did like the show!
I haven’t read any of these, but I’m glad they are so memorable and beloved that they live in your head rent-free!
Happy TTT!

Thanks!
I nearly added Red Winter to my list!
Yay for Red Winter! 🙂
Great list!
Thanks! 🙂
Emily Henry is definitely one of my top favourite authors! I’m going to try and read Lovelight Farms this year 🤞
Yay, hope you’ll enjoy Lovelight Farms!
