Hi everybody, happy May and welcome to my April wrap-up!
I had a great reading month in April, as I finally got to some of my highly anticipated latest releases and they did not disappoint! But then at the end of the month I did start to feel a bit slumpy again, so we’ll see how that goes. I still have a lot of highly anticipated releases coming up, as well as others to to catch up on, so I’m hoping they’ll help beat back the slump again 👊
For now though, here’s what I read, listened to, and watched in April:

The Eye of the Bedlam Bride by Matt Dinniman (Dungeon Crawler Carl #6)
This was another amazing installment in the Dungeon Crawler Carl world and I’m only loving these characters more and more with each book. The found family aspect really made me cry in this one as well as learning some backstories for certain characters. 5 STARS.
Dawn of the North by Demi Winters (The Ashen #3)
I was a bit worried to dive into this one as I didn’t get around to my re-read of books 1 and 2 and I didn’t remember everything perfectly… but I shouldn’t have because 1) there was a recap at the beginning of the book and my vote goes that all series should have recaps and 2) even if I didn’t remember everything, it was SO EASY to get completely invested again into this world and the characters. I loved it all, though I admit I loved my time with Saga and Kass most of all. 4,5 STARS
And Now, Back To You by B.K. Borison (Heartstrings #2)
I sped through this book in 2-3 days as I COULD NOT STOP READING. Jackson and Delilah are amazing and I loved being back in the world of Heartstrings. 4,5 STARS
In Her Own League by Liz Tomforde
I am SO HAPPY we got a spin-off book for the Windy City series because I LOVED THIS! Monty and Reese own my heart. Though I must admit, I did lose interest a bit in the last third of the book and I’m not sure why. Could have been the book’s pacing that felt a bit off, or could have been my slump suddenly coming back full force. 4 STARS

Anyma, LISA – Bad Angel
This was my top song of the month! It’s just so catchy and has so many nostalgic notes for late nineties/early 2000’s music for me.
I watched a little bit of a lot of things, but not a lot of one thing. I started watching the new season of The Boys, some more episodes of Younger, AND I started my yearly rewatch of Romance is a Bonus Book.
You may have noticed I’ve been posting a bit less regularly than before and that’s purely because I’ve been a bit tired and overwhelmed lately. So I’m trying to take it a bit easier on myself on multiple fronts and that includes posting a bit less than usual. I do have two weeks of holiday coming up in May, so I’m hoping that’ll help and I’ll be back to my regular rhythm soon enough!
THINGS THAT MADE ME HAPPY THIS MONTH:
- A few nice dinners out with friends or family.
- I read a few great books that have me hopeful my reading slump will be over soon.
- The new season of The Boys!
THINGS I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:
- I’ll have two weeks off!
- The release of the Off-Campus series on Prime! I have high hopes for this adaptation of a beloved series.
- The last installment in Annette Marie’s Guild Codex: Warped!
- The latest Dungeon Crawler Carl book is releasing as well. I’ve been bingeing the series since late December, so I’m both really excited to be finally caught up with the rest of the world, and a bit fearful I’ll fall into a huge slump without it.
How was your April? What did you read? What did you listen to and what did you watch? What are you looking forward to in May?

I can’t wait for the Off Campus either! Also I can’t comment from your post on your blog! I can only do it in the ereader…just so you know…
Hooray for lots of time off work! We also have a short vacation planned and I am definitely looking forward to it!
Enjoy your time off. Looks like you read some good books. We haven’t gotten around to watching the new season of Boys yet.
I’m so excited (and a bit sad?) for the last Warped book. I screamed when I saw the cover!
