WWW Wednesday Header

“WWW” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Taking On A World of Words.

Hi everybody, and welcome to a new WWW Wednesday! For this post, we’ll be answering three questions (the 3 Ws):

  1. What did you recently finish reading?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What do you think you’ll read next?

I kind of feel like the Dungeon Crawler Carl series has taken over my reading life. I’m feeling a bit slumpy about reading in general, EXCEPT for that series. Like, I have other books I know I technically want to read, but I’m not feeling interested enough to start them. And those I do start, go slowly. So please bear with me in the coming weeks (months?) as I go through this series and maybe then my reading will start to diversify a bit more again… 😅

Just Finished Reading
The Dungeon Anarchist's Cookbook by Matt Dinniman

I just finished reading The Dungeon Anarchist’s Cookbook (Dungeon Crawler Carl #3) as audiobook.

I am so invested in this series! And with every book I’m getting more and more favorite characters (HI ELLE!) and that makes me anxious because it’s not likely all of my favorites will get their HEA, will they? Regardless, I’ll be rooting for them all the same. 4 STARS

Good Spirits by B.K. Borison

I also just finished reading Good Spirits by B.K. Borison as ebook.

This was a lovely holiday read, even if I read it long after the holiday period… I loved this premise and the supernatural element, as well as Harriet’s character journey throughout the story. But I also felt like parts of the story were underdeveloped, like the character of Nolan, and the ending left too many questions for me. I love BK Borison’s books, but while I did enjoy this one overall, it’s not my favorite. 3,5 STARS

Currently Reading
The Gate of the Feral Gods by Matt Dinniman

I am currently reading The Gate of the Feral Gods (Dungeon Crawler Carl #4) as audiobook.

This series is taking up most of my reading life, and yet I have no regrets.

Apprentice to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer

I am also currently (still) reading Apprentice to the Villain (Assistant to the Villain #2) by Hannah Nicole Maehrer as physical book.

I’m almost done with this one, and I’m really enjoying it!

Reading Next

As usual, I’m a huge mood reader so who knows what I’ll be reading next? Until the moment I pick up a book, not even me knows. But here are a few possibilities I’m thinking of.

Tell Me:
What are you currently reading?
Have you read any of these books already?

  1. Sophie @BewareOfTheReader says:

Everyone is talking about Dungeon Crawler Carl but I confess the cover is not attractive at all.

    1. I know the feeling, though I confess the covers have really grown on me 😀 There’s also a more typographic cover version which is more stylish. But regardless of the covers, I definitely recommend the books themselves 🙂

  2. I haven’t read any of these. I just finished two books and have figured out what I am reading next.

    1. I hope you’ll love whatever you pick up to read next!

  3. It’s the first time I heard about the Dungeon Crawler Carl series so I’ll have to look into the books!

    1. They’re really great books! I picked them up based on recs from other bloggers but I wasn’t too sure about them at first… but I quickly became obsessed and now I’m already starting on book 5 😀

  4. hehe.. welcome to the DCC haze!! Nothing else would suffice until I finished them all. lol. I’m glad you are enjoying them so much!!

    1. Haha it really is quite the haze! I’m just finishing book 4 and starting book 5 today/tomorrow – they’re really amazing and addictive 😀

      1. Yay!! I’m glad you are loving them. They really are and then only a few months for book 8. Then who knows for book 9. lol

  5. I enjoyed Good Spirits more than you did, but I can see how you’d want more of Nolan’s story. He was a really interesting character, and I loved seeing how their friendship bloomed.

    1. So true! I did enjoy Good Spirits overall though even if I felt it was a bit underdeveloped, and I’m definitely excited for the next book in that series!

  6. My vote is for Dating After the End of the World!

    1. It sounds so good, I really do hope to be able to start it soon!
