“WWW” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Taking On A World of Words.
Hi everybody, and welcome to a new WWW Wednesday! For this post, we’ll be answering three questions (the 3 Ws):
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What are you currently reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?

I’ve been reading a bit slowly lately, so it’s been a little while since I did a WWW Wednesday to avoid too much repetition… But I finished my first two books of 2026, so lets go!

I recently finished reading Dungeon Crawler Carl (Dungeon Crawler Carl #1) by Matt Dinniman as ebook.
Well, if the first book that you read in the year sets the tone for the rest of the year, 2026 is gonna be… quite out there haha 🙂 This series got on my radar after Leslie at BooksAreTheNewBlack and Dini at DiniPandaReads raved about it in 2025 and I gave it a try myself now and… I get the hype!
This is hilarious and out there, while also being a bit dark and providing social commentary. So, a nice balance. At times, the talking of game stats and rules lost me a little bit, but I still got very invested in the wellbeing of Carl and Princess Donut and am eager to continue the series! FOUR STARS

I also (finally) finished reading Assistant to the Villain (Assistant to the Villain #1) by Hannah Nicole Maehrer as physical book.
I’ve been reading this for months and that’s only because I was having some trouble picking up a physical book (especially in the winter period when it’s dark in the evenings and I tend to fall asleep the moment my butt hits the sofa, and especially physical books make me feel sleepy even faster).
But my sleepiness issues aside, I actually really enjoyed this read, it’s quirky and cozy and fun and swoony and I immediately wanted book two after finishing this one. FOUR STARS

I am currently reading Carl’s Doomsday Scenario (Dungeon Crawler Carl #2) as audiobook.
Yes, I dove right into book two, and I’m becoming more and more invested in Carl and Donut’s story! I’m already about halfway through.

I am also currently (still) reading Brimstone (Fae & Alchemy #2) by Callie Hart as ebook.
While I loved Quicksilver even more upon my re-read in December, I’m having a bit of trouble staying invested in the sequel. Like, I enjoy it well enough when I’m reading it, but when I’m not reading I’m also not super pumped to pick it back up. So progress has been slow (maybe also due to the aforementioned sleepiness issues), but I’m almost done and I still want to know how the story will go.

I am also currently reading Apprentice to the Villain (Assistant to the Villain #2) by Hannah Nicole Maehrer as physical book.
I told you I wanted book 2 immediately after finishing book 1! It’s another physical book, so we’ll see how long it takes me this time… But I’m already a few chapters in so hopefully I’ll get through this one a bit more quickly.

As usual, I’m a huge mood reader so who knows what I’ll be reading next? Until the moment I pick up a book, not even me knows. But here are a few possibilities I’m thinking of.

Tell Me:
What are you currently reading?
Have you read any of these books already?

I am gonna have to read Dungeon Crawler Carl soon! https://bibliophilebree.blogspot.com/2026/01/welcome-to-www-wednesday-this-meme-was.html
I’m on book 3 and definitely recommend it 🙂
Dating After the End of the World – I loved that one so much!! I’m anxious to see what you think of it!
It sounds like such an entertaining read, I’m looking forward to reading that one 🙂
I hope you read We Who Will Die. I also have it to read in the near future and would love your thoughts on it!
I hope to read We Who Will Die soon and looking forward to your thoughts on it too!
I keep hearing good things about Dungeon Crawler Carl! I guess I need to pick it up soon. I recently read and reviewed both Assistant to the Villain and Apprentice to the Villain. I definitely liked the first book more than the second, but I’m looking forward to the third. I also started Good Spirits this weekend and I’m enjoying it!
I’m now reading the third Dungeon Crawler Carl book – I think I’ve got a new obsession 🙂 I need to continue Apprentice to the Villain and I’m hoping to start Good Spirits soon!
I haven’t read any of these. Thanks for sharing.
I hope you’ll enjoy these reads if you ever decide to try them!
