Monthly Wrap Up

November 2025: The Month I Watched An Adaptation Before Reading The Book And Have Zero Regrets

November 2025: Monthly Wrap Up

Hi everybody, and welcome to my November wrap-up!

This month, my slump kind of continued and caused me too read very slowly (except for my audiobooks, which I read during my commute). Between work, social obligations and the darkness of the season, I’ve also been rather tired and I am very much looking forward to the end-of-year break that is usually just a time to chill and recover. I’m hoping that I’ll find my reading spark again during those cozy weeks. But until then, here’s a recap of my November:

What I Read

Not Quite Dead Yet by Holly Jackson

While I’m not usually a thriller reader, this premise intrigued me. It was a great and thrilling read that kind of helped getting me out of my slump as I could not stop reading… but the ending was so sad! (Yes, I knew it was coming, it’s the premise, but I still cried my little heart out). 4 STARS

Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas (Throne of Glass #5) (Re-Read)

One of the upsides of having the memory of a goldfish is that I can enjoy re-reads much more as I may remember overall story arcs and a few moments here and there, but I can also still be pleasantly surprised by moments I did not remember and that was the case for this re-read! But also, that ending broke me all over again. 4,5 STARS

Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas (Throne of Glass #6) (Re-Read)

I was always a fan of Chaol and never really got the hate, so I didn’t mind this interlude, not even upon this re-read. I loved getting to know Yrene and the Southern continent and the Khaganate. 4 STARS

What I Listened To

It’s been a great month for new music releases, from the Wicked 2 soundtrack (I’ll be seeing the movie next weekend hopefully!), new Hilary Duff and a new Stray Kids Comeback, but above all else, these two songs have been on repeat most of all:

Chrissy Costanza – Weather

If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you know my love for Chrissy Costanza and Against The Current knows no bounds.

Itzy – Tunnel Vision

And I also have a weak spot for any badass female powerpop, and that’s Itzy!

What I Watched

In terms of TV shows, I’ve been feeling just as slumpy as in terms of reading. There are so many new seasons of shows out that I want to watch (Alice in Borderland, Nobody Wants This, The Witcher, and now also Stranger Things) but I haven’t started any of them yet. But I did watch two movies this month:

Happiness for Beginners

I started this because the trailer looked nice and I only realised later on that it was based on a Katherine Center book I haven’t read yet… but I fell in love with the movie. I think this may be one of the best recent romances I’ve watched. It had everything I wanted in a movie: great characters, depth and emotion, humor, amazing character growth and swoonworthy chemistry. I now want to read the book desperately to recapture those vibes.

Freakier Friday

The first movie was one of my favorites back in 2003, and I loved the sequel just as much. Some things were resolved a bit too easily in my opinion, but I just loved being along for the ride and the humor. Also, love seeing Manny Jacinto as the love interest, petition to cast him as more love interests!

Life Update

My reading slump is still dragging along, but my evenings and weekends have been pretty full, which has me a little tired but happy.

THINGS THAT MADE ME HAPPY THESE MONTHS:

  • Three family/friend dinners this month plus a small family gathering.
  • Also had my brother, sister-in-law and niece/godchild over for dinner at our house twice as their kitchen stove was broken and they were waiting for the company to send someone to repair it. Not fun for them, but I enjoyed being able to help them and spend time with them.
  • We put up our Christmas decorations and I can feel the coziness calming my anxious mind already 🙂
  • We had a Belgian bank holiday on November 11th, and I used the day to add one more certificate to my collection on Google Display Advertising (I’ve been slowly taking online courses and getting certificates in Digital Marketing and this is the latest one I got). Learning something new always makes me happy as it is a confidence booster.

THINGS I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:

  • Only three more working weeks until I have two weeks off for Christmas and New Years!
  • I have a date planned with my BFF to go see Wicked 2 and visit a Christmas Market.
  • End of Year lists! I love making them and I love reading them! I’m also already stoked for my Spotify Wrapped. What are the odds a K-Pop Demon Hunters song will be #1 this year? High, I think 🙂

How was your November? What did you read? What did you listen to and what did you watch? What are you looking forward to in December?

Lindsey xoxo
