Monthly Wrap Up

September 2025: The Month of Enemies To Lovers, Female Rage and That One TV Show About Summer

2025 Wrap up - September

Hi everybody, HAPPY OCTOBER (my favorite month of the year) and welcome to my September wrap up!

I read a bit less than usual this month, and felt a bit mixed about most of those reads (except my one re-read which I adored) but that’s okay as I’m looking forward to lots of cozy and atmospheric reads this month. Without further ado, let’s just dive right in!

What I Read

The Irresistible Urge to Fall For Your Enemy by Brigitte Knightley

I have to admit, it took me a bit to get into it. Neither character was particularly likeable at first, and I was not expecting this particular writing style, which was quite dry and heavy on the banter in a way that felt like I was reading a parody at first. But then I got into the writing style and started to love both characters and I became invested in the romance… and then it ended rather abruptly which annoyed me greatly. All this to say, I had mixed feeling throughout but I am invested and anxiously awaiting book 2! 3,5 STARS

Heir of Fire (Throne of Glass #3) by Sarah J. Maas (re-read)

This was one of my favorite installments back when I first read it, and it still is now. Mostly because Manon and Abraxos and the Thirteen, but also Celaena’s development in this entire book still brings me to tears with how powerful it is. And also, Rowan! 5 STARS

Roost of Darkness (The Ashen #2.5) by Demi Winters

I loved being back in this world, and I also loved that Hekla’s POV brought all the female rage. But I’m not usually a fan of novellas and this reminded me a bit why as I was disappointed when it ended and there were still so many questions. Maybe I would have preferred it to be integrated into the other books instead of being a “side-quest” novella. But I’m definitely looking forward to the next book! 3,5 STARS

A Novel Love Story by Ashley Poston

While I did really enjoy this book overall, I have to agree with the majority of reviews I read and admit that it wasn’t my favorite Ashley Poston book either. While I loved the premise (who wouldn’t want to end up in their favorite fictional small town?), I felt like there were too many characters and the romance was a bit rushed. 3,5 STARS

What I Listened To

September has had many great songs, but I love these two most all 🙂

Poppy, Amy Lee and Courtney Laplante – End of You

Sabrina Carpenter – Tears

What I Watched

The Summer I Turned Pretty S3 – I AM FREE! Or maybe not entirely, as there’s still a movie coming too. But also, I kinda liked this season, despite the love triangle still being annoying. And Taylor and Steven own my heart.

Wednesday S2 part 2 – I liked this more than part 1! The body swap episode was fun and the dance scene too. (I did fall asleep for like one minute there and turns out I missed all Lady Gaga scenes…)

Crash Landing On You (rewatch) – Rewatching this season slowly and still loving every minute of it!

Lilo and Stitch – Watched this while I was down sick and quite enjoyed it!

Bon Appetit, Your Majesty – This was another watch while I’ve been sick and though it is very cheesy it’s also quite enjoyable and I’m eager to find out how the time travel aspect/romance will work out.

Life Update

September flew by. I had the first two weeks of the month off from work and did so many things (I have TTT posts prepped until November, like who am I?), then I was back at work for a week and then I fell sick with an exhausting type of flu that had me down for a few days. Like, I wasn’t even feeling up to reading, that’s how tired I felt. By now I’m back to work and doing better, if still a little bit tired. Though unfortunately, by now my husband has it…

THINGS THAT MADE ME HAPPY THESE MONTHS:

  • I had a lot of time off and did so many things both productive and restful!
  • I celebrated my 10 year wedding anniversary with my husband. We had a lovely dinner with our parents and siblings to celebrate (luckily it was after I was feeling better, and like a day before my husband got sick so great timing when it comes to that)
  • I had a date with friends I hadn’t seen in a while.
  • I went to see a Cirque Du Soleil show with work (to celebrate the company’s 20th anniversary) and I was in awe. So cool and I’d love to be able to watch it again some day.

THINGS I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:

  • OCTOBER AND HALLOWEEN (aka my birthday)!
  • I’m going to see one of my favorite bands, One OK Rock, live for the first time!
  • New Taylor Swift album!
  • New season of Nobody Wants This!
  • And I’m meeting up with some former colleagues and looking forward to catching up.
  • Also, I have read a bit less in September, but I’m hoping to get back into my reading groove for October.

How was your September? What did you read? What did you listen to and what did you watch? What are you looking forward to in October?

Lindsey xoxo
