WWW Wednesday Header

“WWW” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Taking On A World of Words.

Hi everybody, and welcome to a new WWW Wednesday! For this post, we’ll be answering three questions (the 3 Ws):

  1. What did you recently finish reading?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What do you think you’ll read next?

Just Finished Reading
The Irresistible Urge to Fall For Your Enemy by Brigitte Knightley

I just finished reading The Irresistible Urge to Fall For Your Enemy by Brigitte Knighley as ebook.

I have to admit, it took me a bit to get into it. Neither character was particularly likeable at first, and I was not expecting this particular writing style, which was quite dry and heavy on the banter in a way that felt like I was reading a parody at first. But then I got into the writing style and started to love both characters and I became invested in the romance… and then it ended rather abruptly which annoyed me greatly. All this to say, I had mixed feeling throughout but I am invested and anxiously awaiting book 2!

Roots of Darkness by Demi Winters

I also just finished reading Roots of Darkness (The Ashen #2.5) by Demi Winters as ebook.

I loved being back in this world, and I also loved that Hekla’s POV brought all the female rage. But I’m not usually a fan of novellas and this reminded me a bit why as I was disappointed when it ended and there were still so many questions. Maybe I would have preferred it to be integrated into the other books instead of being a “side-quest” novella. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book!

Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas

I just finished re-reading Heir of Fire (Throne of Glass #3) by Sarah J. Maas as audiobook.

This was one of my favorite installments back when I first read it, and it still is now. Mostly because Manon and Abraxos and the Thirteen, but also Celaena’s development in this entire book still brings me to tears with how powerful it is. And also, Rowan!

Currently Reading
Assistant To The Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer

I am currently reading Assistant to the Villain (Assistant to the Villain #1) by Hannah Nicole Maehrer as physical book.

I got this copy as an (early) birthday gift from my BFF when we were bookstore browsing last weekend, and I couldn’t wait to dive in!

A Novel Love Story by Ashley Poston

I am also currently reading A Novel Love Story by Ashley Poston as ebook.

I finally dove into this 2024 Ashley Poston release! Only a few pages in so no thoughts yet, but I’m hoping I’ll love this one as much as I did The Dead Romantics and The Seven Year Slip.

Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas

I am currently re-reading Queen of Shadows (Throne of Glass #4) by Sarah J. Maas as audiobook.

Have I mentioned how happy I am to finally be re-reading this all-time favorite series of mine? Because I still love it just as much as the first time, and I’m sorry ACOTAR and Crescent City as I do love you, but Throne of Glass is the superior SJM series if you ask me.

Reading Next

As usual, I’m a huge mood reader so who knows what I’ll be reading next? Until the moment I pick up a book, not even me knows. But here are a few possibilities I’m thinking of (is it obvious I’m ready for fall reading?):

What are you currently reading?
Have you read any of these books already?
