June 2025: Where Did This Month Go?

June 2025: Monthly Wrap Up

Hi everybody, happy July and welcome to my June wrap up!

My June felt quite hectic and over in a blink. I haven’t read that much and I feel like I’m just trying to catch up on everything. So today, I opted to not do a Top Ten Tuesday, but a Monthly Wrap Up instead to save myself some time 🙂 Here we go!

What I Read

Rewind It Back by Liz Tomforde (Windy City #5)

Aww man, I love this series so much and Rio’s story was such an emotional and nostalgic conclusion. That said, it wasn’t my favorite of the series, as I had expected it to be because I adore Rio, but the honor of series favorite goes to The Right Move AND Play Along.

Rating: 4 stars

Great Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry

Though I consider myself a big Emily Henry fangirl as I have adored all of her previous books, I was hesitant to pick this one up. It’s a bit different from her previous books and because of that, reviews have been mixed and I was worried I wouldn’t like this one. But I’m happy to say that I did end up quite enjoying it! The trademark Emily Henry writing style, the one that makes you feel all the emotions, is still present. I laughed and I cried and that’s a win for me. Is it my favorite by hers? No. But I’d still recommend it for sure.

Rating: 4 stars

Shield of Sparrows by Devney Perry

I finally read one of the most hyped books of the moment! I did enjoy this one and would rate it a solid 4 stars, but even if that is a good rating it may still be a bit of an unpopular opinion as I can’t quite give it the 5-star rave review most people seem to give it. That’s because, while I thought the worldbuilding was unique and well thought out, I felt the pacing was a bit off. For the first 90% or so of the book, it’s a rather slow read. Almost a little dragging at points. And then the last 10% of the book felt like an overload of plot twists and revelations and smut and gore and more plot twists and gore and revelations and I feel like I’m still processing what actually happened. But I’m definitely hooked and want to read book 2!

Can’t Wait Wednesday

The Irresistible Urge to Fall For Your Enemy by Brigitte Knightley {Can’t Wait Wednesday}

What I Listened To

Here are my top songs of the month:

All Time Low – Suckerpunch

UAU – Attitude

What I Watched

It’s been another fragmented TV month, as there really only is one show I spent a lot of time watching:

Our Unwritten Seoul

Our Unwritten Seoul

I’ve been loving this new kdrama on Netflix, which is about two identical twin sisters who used to be very close and as kids, had a habit of helping each other out by switching places. But as adults, they’re each going through their own issues and have grown a bit apart. One of them is living in Seoul, working a corporate job and the other is living on the countryside, going from temp job to temp job. Until one day they meet up and decide to switch places again until they have their stuff figured out.

It’s a slower kdrama, but I adore it and have fallen so in love with all of the main characters.

Other than that, I watched 2 episodes of the new season of Squid Game but I still need to watch the rest of the season and I hope I can do that before spoilers find me. I’m also rewatching Brothers Sun on Netflix. And while I haven’t seen it yet, but I’ve seen so many people loving KPop Demon Hunters and I hope to get to it soon as well.

Life Update

June felt like it flew by and I’m still trying to catch up! Work has been super busy, as it always is when preparing for the holiday period. I hope everything will slow down a bit in July. I’m also considering slowing things down on the blog a bit over the summer months, maybe even do a short hiatus, so I have some more time on my hands and space in my head to just take it easy and enjoy the summer. Not sure yet when or how or what this will look like exactly, but we’ll see. In the meantime, here’s some highlights from the past month!

THINGS THAT MADE ME HAPPY THIS MONTH:

  • We celebrated my godchild’s fourth birthday with the family!
  • I finally invested in my own bow and accessories for archery! I got a beautiful green-black one and I’m still getting used to it as it’s a bit heavier than the club bows I was used to, but I’m sure I’ll get there soon.
  • I had a few surprise workday lunches with my bestie, as we found out she had enrolled in a four-day course that happened to take place in the same building as the one I work at. Being able to see her and catch up made my month.

THINGS I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:

  • I’m seeing Linkin Park live and I am so excited!
  • Hopefully, a bit lower temperatures, as it’s been a real heatwave and wow am I not built for this.
  • I have a friend date coming up.

How was your June? What did you read? What did you listen to and what did you watch? What are you looking forward to in July?

Lindsey xoxo

  1. Yikes, it has been hot everywhere! Hopefully you get some cooler temps soon. Summer seems like a good time to take a blog break, I’m considering one, too!

    1. It does seem like it’s hot all around the world almost… Today’s been pretty cool, but it’s getting hotter as of tomorrow again…
I think the blogosphere does tend to be a bit calmer during summer, so it does seem like the best time for a little break 🙂 Hope you’ll enjoy your break if you decide to take one!

  2. Sophie @BewareOfTheReader says:

Oooh you will be at Werchter?

    1. I was indeed Sophie, it was really fun! (and exhausting haha)

  3. Oohh surprise hangouts are the best! I’m glad you had time to catch up with your bestie 🥰

The heat is definitely exhausting! Hopefully it lowers a bit so we can actually step outside for more than 34.2 seconds 😅

    1. Surprise hangouts are indeed the best 🙂
Luckily we had 3 cool days now but as of tomorrow the heat is back so I’ll need to enjoy my last few hours of coolness 😀

  4. I wanna see your bow, Lindsey! 😍

    1. I tried taking pictures but a picture of a bow resting in the bow stand is just not it… I need to get a picture while I’m holding it, but I feel so awkward asking for someone to take my pic with the bow haha 😀
