Books I’d Like to Re-read

20250708 Books I’d Like to Re-read

Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

Hi everybody and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday! Today we’re talking about re-reading books.

I love re-reading! Yes, sometimes it can be tricky not to get caught up in all the new book releases and re-reading can even feel a bit like a waste of time… But I find that I also get so much joy out of re-reading an old favorite. It’s such a comforting, cozy feeling to slip back into a world I know and love and fall in love with the characters all over again. So I do try to re-read regularly and for me that means about 5 to 10 re-reads a year, out of my total average of 50 books – so that makes re-reads roughly 10 to 20% of my reading year.

I have a few favorites I tend to re-read regularly and sometimes I just have a craving to re-read a certain book or series. So I’m highlighting both today. Let’s go!

Books I Re-read Regularly

The Red Winter trilogy by Annette Marie – I re-read this almost every winter and it’s one of the highlights of my reading year still!

Lovelight series by B.K. Borison – I love these characters so much!

With Love, From Cold World by Alicia Thompson – There’s just something about a workplace romance set in a winter theme park in Florida…

The Simple Wild by K.A. Tucker – Yes, this book still makes my cry but I can’t help but go back to it regularly.

Dear Aaron by Mariana Zapata – Ah, my favorite slow burn pen pal romance!

Him by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy – I read this years ago and it’s still one of my favorites to re-read.

The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune – A sure way to get my serotonin fix.

Heartstopper by Alice Oseman – So wholesome and good!

Books I’ve Been Wanting To Re-read Next

The Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas – I’ve been wanting to re-read this series for a year now and I haven’t gotten around to it… so I caved and got the audiobook for Throne of Glass yesterday because sometimes audiobooks do the trick when physical books don’t…

The Guild Codex series by Annette Marie – Because Red Winter shouldn’t get all the re-read fun!

Funny Story by Emily Henry – My favorite book of 2024 and I’m craving a re-read just because.

Quicksilver by Callie Hart – I’m considering a re-read to get ready for the sequel releasing later this year.

Do you love to re-read? If so, do we have any re-read favorites in common?

  1. I think it’s grand that everyone loves re-reading so much! I rarely do though sometimes I think I want too only to then wonder if re-reading would somehow “ruin” what I loved so much in that first reading experience. Glad you have so many to enjoy. 🙂

    1. That’s a good point Rissi. So far, I’ve never had a re-read ruin my first reading experience though. In fact, I mostly love it more because I find new things and connections I didn’t the first time. But it’s definitely a possibility and a bit of a risk in doing a re-read…

  2. Completely agree with what you say about re-reading! I do it less than I used to, but it’s always such a great experience!

    1. It is indeed such a great experience to re-read! 🙂

  3. I hope you enjoy your rereads when the you the opportunity.

    1. Thanks so much!

  4. I love to reread and I’m glad to see you do, too! I need to reread The Simple Wild! I loved it the first time.

    1. I love rereads 🙂 I reread The Simple Wild last year in winter and I fell in love with the story all over again.

  5. Rereading is such a comforting thing for sure!

    1. It’s indeed so comforting!

  6. I wanna reread The Guild Codex too. I have some of them on audio so it would be perfect!

    1. Oh I’d love to try them on audio too!

  7. I used to reread a lot. Now, I’m lucky if I can find the time to reread a book. UGH, being an adult is not fun… some of the time.

On another note, I just bought Quicksilver at my local bookstore! I can’t wait to dive into this one!!

    1. I know, I’d love for just a designated reading day when all adulting stuff waits and I can just read haha 🙂
      Hope you’ll love Quicksilver!

      1. I can’t wait to start Quicksilver!! I have five books in line before I can dive into this one.. the anticipation is too much!

  8. ToG has been on my re-read list for years now and I still haven’t got around to it. I want to do it so that I can finally finish the series for the first time 😂 I also want to re-read The Simple Wild so I can finish that series, too! I hope you enjoy all these on re-read 🙂

    1. I know, I have quite a few unfinished series too that are waiting for me to do a re-read so I can remember what happened and then finish the series… But when I actually do a re-read, I tend to go for old favorite standalones more though *oops*

  9. Interesting. So I have never re read and my boys are obsessed with re reading. I understand why they do it but when will they read all the other books if they are always re reading?

    1. It’s definitely always a struggle to decide to re-read when there are so many books still unread and the TBR just keeps on growing 🙂

  10. I really need to check out more BK Borison! I read First Time Caller recently and really enjoyed it.

    1. I hope you’ll love her Lovelight series too if you decide to give it a try!

  11. House in the Cerulean Sea is a great one! If I re-read … I would probably re-read that one too.

    1. It’s such a feel-good read, which makes it perfect for re-reading for me 🙂

  12. I didn’t use to like rereading, but I am learning to appreciate it more 🙂 I agree, books we love can bring comfort when rereading.

    1. So true, I’m glad to hear you’re learning to appreciate re-reading too 🙂

  13. The House in the Cerulean Sea has been on a lot of lists and is on my TBR. I think I need to make it my next read since it keeps coming up.

    1. It’s definitely one of those feel-good reads that make it perfect for re-reading (at least for me 🙂 )

  14. I don’t reread a lot but I could see myself revisiting The House in the Cerulean Sea at some point. Maybe before I finally get around to reading the sequel!

    1. Re-reading The House in the Cerulean Sea before picking up the sequel sound like a great idea!

  15. I’m one who tends to think of rereading as wasted time, but I also value rereading my comfort books. I read about 210 books a year and I’d say maybe five of those are rereads, so not too many. I hope you enjoy your rereads!

    Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

    1. Five re-reads a year is still great, even if it’s not a big part of your reading 🙂
