Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl
Hi everybody and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday! Today’s post is about the oldest (aka earliest published) books on my TBR. Now I added an extra criteria and that is oldest books on my TBR THAT I STILL WANT TO READ. Because let’s be honest, all those classics that I added to my TBR years ago… I’m probably not gonna read them any time soon. Nor any of the many other older books that I’ve also lost interest in by now. (Conclusion: I REALLY need to work on cleaning up my TBR…)
But anyway, as I went through my TBR list, sorted from oldest to newest, I tried to be honest with myself and only select those old books that I actually still AM planning to read. Some day. Soon. Ish…
Let’s go!
Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood #1) by J.R. Ward (February 19, 2005)
Moon Called (Mercy Thompson #1) by Patricia Briggs (January 31, 2006)
The Name of the Wind (The Kingkiller Chronicle #1) by Patrick Rothfuss (March 27, 2007)
The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking #1) by Patrick Ness (May 5, 2008)
Finnikin of the Rock (Lumatere Chronicles #1) by Melina Marchetta (September 29, 2008)
Nice Girls Don’t Have Fangs (Jane Jameson #1) by Molly Harper (March 31, 2009)
Soulless (Parasol Protectorate #1) by Gail Carriger (September 4, 2009)
Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma (May 27, 2010)
First Grave on the Right (Charley Davidson #1) by Darynda Jones (February 1, 2011)
The Autumn Bride (Chance Sisters #1) by Anne Gracie (January 30, 2012)
I used to be really curious about Gail’s books and I think I heard they were good too. But since I wasn’t reading them, I think I unhauled them. They still seem fun though! Hope you enjoy these. 🙂
Thanks Rissi! Yes, they’ve been on my TBR for a long time, but I still want to give them a try! Just… some day 🙂
The Name of the Wind is one of my favorite books ever (even if the series won’t be finished). Soulless series is so so good too! 🥰 I have completed two series by this author and started two others, and I really enjoy all of her books, but this series is amazingly good (and my favorite!). And I also recommend both Patrica Briggs and Darynda Jones series!!
I’m so glad to hear you love those books! I hope to get to them soon!
I have read Dark Lover and I loved it! Actually, the fourth book in the series (Lover Revealed) is the book that’s on my TBR for the longest. I NEED to read it already!
I’m so glad to hear you loved Dark Lover, then I definitely need to hurry up and read it!
I wound up donating my copy of Souless to the library because I had it unread for so long.
That’s the kind of TBR etiquette I aspire to achieve one day 🙂
I’m curious about The Name of the Wind, too.
Hope we’ll both love it when we read it!
I haven’t read any of these, but I hope you enjoy them when you get to them!
Thanks!
I haven’t read any of these but Soulless has been on my mind for years now. I hope you’ll like these books when you get to them 🙂

Hope we’ll both end up loving Soulless if we ever do read it 🙂
Forbidden was amazing!!!
I hope I’ll get to read it soon!
I love that you added that I still want to read. I put some on my list but I am not sure I do still want to read them. Have a great week!
Yes, this post definitely made me realize that I need to clean out my TBR, as it has a lot of books on it that I don’t actually want to read anymore…
I loved the Charley Davidson series. Her snark and spunk are so refreshing. She names everything, and I mean everything!

It does sound like such a fun series!
Dark Lover is one that I have planned to read sooo many times!! I just need to get to it. lol
Hope we’ll both get to that series… some time 😀
I love THE KNIFE OF NEVER LETTING GO and the rest of that series as well. In fact, I should re-read it sometime soon. Thanks for the reminder!
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!
