Books I Love So Much I Have Copies On More Than 1 Format

Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

Hi everyone, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday post! Today’s I’m talking about the books I love so much that I have copies on more than one format (paper / e-book / audiobook). You see, I usually read across all 3 formats. And sometimes I have read a book in one format, but for some reason I also want it in another format. For example, I read a book as ebook or audiobook but I LOVED the book so much I needed a physical copy for my shelves. Or what’s also possible is that I have read a book on paperback, but would love to do a re-read on audio. And then sometimes, I have a little trouble reading a book in paperback (sometimes I just have difficulty focusing on a paperback, this happens often in winter when it gets dark early…) and then I get a copy on audio to better absorb the story. Whatever the reason, here are 10 books that I own in more than one format:

Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston – originally read this one on ebook, but loved it so much I wanted a paperback copy for my shelves, and was gifted one last year!

One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston – originally read this one on audiobook, but was gifted a physical copy last year as well.

Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo – I originally purchased the paperback but was having trouble reading books in paperback at the time and I really wanted to read it so I purchased the audiobook, which were easier for me to read, and adored it!

The Hating Game by Sally Thorne – I originally read this as an ebook when it was first released, but was craving a re-read last year and purchased the audiobook for that.

The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune – I originally listened to this on audio, but was so enamored by the story I splurged on a hardback copy immediately after finishing.

Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson – Same story as Cerulean, I originally listed to this on audio but fell so head over heels in love with the story that I gifted myself with a hardcover as well.

King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo – I originally purchased the hardcover (because how gorgeous is that cover and also Leigh Bardugo), but I was struggling to read a physical copy at the time so a few weeks later I also purchased the audio and listened to it.

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell – I originally fell in love with this story on paperback, but last year I wanted to do a re-read AND read the sequels, which I did on audio.

The Red Winter trilogy by Annette Marie – I originally read this on ebook, fell in love with the story and the beautiful visuals and purchased the entire trilogy for my shelves.

The Guild Codex series by Annette Marie – I’m lucky enough to be on Annette Marie’s ARC team now, so I got most of these on ebook at first, but I love this series so much I still purchase copies for my shelves afterwards.

  1. Yup yup. Totally understand the multiple copies reasons 😀

    1. Haha, thanks, I think they’re totally reasonable too 😉

  2. I just read House on the Cerulean Sea. What a joy.

    1. Ahh, so happy to hear you loved House in the Cerulean Sea, it’s one of my faves and indeed such a joy 🙂

Great list and spin on this week’s prompt. I completely agree with so many of your picks like Ninth House (I also have in 3 formats) and King of Scar (I need to get a physical copy of the duology to put on my shelves), and I also have One Last Stop on my list this week!

    Have a great week 🙂

    1. Thanks, glad we have a few favorites in common 🙂

  4. So many incredible books in this list! I REALLY want to read RW&RB, it’s been on my TBR for ages! I’m also very interested in One Last Stop. And Carry On is such a fantastic read, I love it so much. I still need to read the last book in the trilogy, Any Way The Wind Blows though. I love buying multiple editions of books, especially when they are beautiful and favourites!

Happy TTT, have a lovely week 🙂

    1. Oh, I hope you’ll enjoy Red, White and Royal Blue and One Last Stop, they’re two of my favorites 🙂 Carry On is so much fun as well, hope you’ll love the final book too!

Thank you for sharing some of your favorite books! In the past year or so, I’ve started reading in multiple formats as well. I have found for some books/genres, that one format is better than another.

    1. It’s so true that the perfect format can depend on the book and/or genre!

  6. Ooh, I like this twist! Some books simply have to be enjoyed in multiple ways.

    1. That’s so true!

  7. It went exactly the same for me with Sorcery of Thorns. I listened to the audio version and loved it so much that I had to have a real copy!

    1. Sorcery of Thorns was just so good! And now I’m so excited for the sequel novella 🙂

  8. If I love an ebook I borrowed from the library, I generally need to get a physical copy for my shelves! It’s nice to be able to revisit stories.

    1. I totally get that! When it comes to favorite stories, it’s nice to know that you always have a copy with you so you can indeed revisit whenever you want.

  9. We have quite a few books with both the physical and audio book. Great list!

    1. Haha, glad I’m not the only one with multiple copies of these 🙂

      1. Definitely not. 🙂

  10. I generally don’t, but I did end up reading the rest of the final Throne of Glass book on audio, I’d read about 450 odd pages in the physical format but the fact that I still had SO MUCH TO GO was very daunting, so I switched to audio as I find it easier to consume long books that way. I’ve also occasionally finished off a couple of books that I started on Netgalley but they expired before I could finish on audiobook after they’ve come out.

    1. I totally understand, I sometimes struggle reading in physical format too and then it’s so much easier for me to listen on audio instead. Especially long books indeed!

  11. A great looking list. I have House on the Cerulean Sea on my list!

    Have a good week!

    1. Cerulean Sea is definitely a good one to own multiple copies of 🙂

      1. It’s a great story with a great cover ☺️

  12. I’ve got multiple copies of Hating Game and Sorcery of Thorns as well! I read the ARC of Cerulean Sea and it was my fave read the year it came out but I only have one finished copy and ngl, I’m surprised I haven’t bought another SE of it! 😂 Great list!

    1. Hating Game and Sorcery of Thorns are two of my all-time faves, multiple copies were needed haha. Oh, I hope you’ll be able to add a finished copy of Cerulean Sea for your collection some day soon 🙂

  13. These would be great books to have both a digital and physical copy of, especially Klune’s. I don’t own that one at all. I listened to it from the library. Although, I did gift the ebook to my sister.

    1. I hope you’ll get a copy of House in the Cerulean Sea for yourself then as well some day 🙂 It’s indeed a nice book to own (I already re-read it twice haha).

  14. Favorite books deserve a little extra love or spot on our shelves, right? 🙂 Glad you have a collection you can say this about. Those are the best types of reads.

    1. That is so true, it’s so amazing to have stories we love that much 🙂

  15. I felt the need for a physical copy of Red, Whit and Royal Blue, too. I think I initially listened on audio (I think?) but I ended up buying a physical copy, too. I couldn’t get enough of Alex and Henry.

    1. Haha, I have RWRB on ebook and paperback, BUT I’ve been seriously considering getting the audiobook for a re-read before the adaptation releases… So far I managed to resist, but my resolve is fading by the day 😀

Sometimes I get an e-ARC and then I end up buying the physical book to read instead, because I tend to read physical books more than anything.

    1. I get that, sometimes we just have a preference for a certain format!

  17. I like your twist. My list would be completely different if I did this. I don’t have many books in more than one format, but I do have a few that I love to death! 😀 Great list, Lindsey!

    1. Thanks! I’m surprised I had this many books in multiple formats too, I wasn’t expecting this much haha 🙂

  18. I’m the same way. sometimes I love a book so much I just need a physical copy. and oh my gosh ninth House- can’t wait to read that. Especially now that it’s nearing fall and one of my unoffical rules ha ha is that fall is for spooky boarding house or dark academia lol.

    1. I like that rule! 🙂 I’m definitely planning a re-read during fall too!

  19. Nice twist. I wouldn’t be able to come up with a single item because I don’t have an eReader. LOL

Thanks for visiting my TTT this week.

    1. Haha that would indeed make this list a bit more difficult 🙂
