5 Boring Places I Usually Read & 5 Places I’d Love To Read Instead For Once

20210817 Places To Read

Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

Hi everybody, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!

Today we’re talking about places to read and I thought it would be nice to compare the places I usually read to the places I’d actually like to be reading instead. Short and sweet, so let’s go!

5 Boring Places I Usually Read

My sofa

What can I say? It’s the place I do like 90% of my reading.

My bed

This one never lasts long though… Those people saying they read all night? Yeah, that’s never me. I need my sleep too much.

My car during my commute

Not physical books obviously. Audiobooks are the best, especially when you’re stuck in traffic for most of your commute.

My office during lunch

Before COVID, my colleagues and I ate together at the kitchen table. Since COVID we’re all eating separately at our desks. Part of me is missing the social contact, but to be honest part of me is also happy for the reading time!

During housework

Really, audiobooks are the best way to make the time pass more pleasantly while doing chores around the house

5 Places I’d Love To Read Instead For Once

Japan

It’s #1 on my travel bucket list, so obviously I’d love to be able to read while over there instead of at home.

South-Korea

#2 on my bucket list. Sigh, a girl can dream.

Bora Bora

Honestly, it doesn’t even have to be Bora Bora specifically. Any sunny destination with beaches and palm trees would do.

At a cozy cabin reading retreat

I love the idea of reading retreats with fellow book lovers. It would be so much fun, right?

Hobbiton

Because why not?

A great list of places! When I was working, the break room was one of the places I could read during the day. Generally the other person in there was reading as well. People always commented how quiet it was when we were in there together.

    A reading retreat? Yes please!

When you get the chance, I hope you stop by my post: https://readbakecreate.com/10-books-with-travel-locations-in-their-title/

    1. Ah that does sound great when you can kind of read together during a break. When my other colleagues are talking and I’m the only one reading, it can feel kind of awkward πŸ™‚
I’d love to do a reading retreat some day!

  10. Ooh I’d love to read in a cosy cabin! I read in my bed a lot, and also like to read in the car, but I’m never the one driving so that does help.

    1. Cozy cabins just seem made for reading somehow! I loved to read in the car during long trips when I wasn’t driving too! Nowadays, it’s mostly just my audiobooks during commutes though (which is pretty great too).

      1. They definitely do! Yes, it makes the time past so much faster. I do that too, I listen to audiobooks on the bus on the way into work πŸ™‚

  11. I love what you did with this post! I would love to be reading on a tropical beach somewhere right now.

    1. Same! The weather here has been iffy all summer, so a tropical beach getaway sounds pretty great right now πŸ™‚

  12. Japan for sure! Especially with Mt. Fuji in the background or under some cherry blossoms. All of these actually. Bora Bora, Hobbiton, a cabin… yup. πŸ™‚

    1. Yes, that Japan view would be perfect for reading!

  13. That is a pretty awesome reading bucket list. I love the cozy cabin reading retreat. That sounds perfect. πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks! I hope I’ll be able to do a cozy cabin reading retreat some day for sure πŸ™‚

  15. I actually think one of my favourites is listening to audiobooks at home when doing chores! It makes that time so much more enjoyable and I get some reading done!

    1. So true!
