Hosted by The Broke & The Bookish
Hi everybody, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!
Though there is a lot of debate about the power and of course responsibility of social media, I personally do love how it brings fans closer to their idols, be it musical artists, actors, athletes, politicians, authors, or any other kind of idol. I myself love following some of my favorite authors on social media, and this can be for several reasons: maybe I like the upcoming book updates, maybe I like their art, maybe I like their personality, or maybe I like all of the above.
For whatever reason, here are 8 of the authors I most love to follow on social media:
Annette Marie (Facebook Group)
I mean this is no surprise, right? I love following the Annette Marie facebook group, not only because Annette Marie regularly posts in there and gives us insights into her life, cover reveals, bookish aesthetics, her own art and even the occasional music post – it’s also fun to just follow the posts of other Annette Marie fans.
V.E. Schwab (Facebook)
I love following V.E. Schwab because she’s just so REAL and posts not only the good stuff, but also the bad. In doing so, she continuously motivates me.
Leigh Bardugo (Twitter)
I mean, I love getting book updates from one of my favorite authors, but I’m not gonna lie, I’m also loving all the Shadow and Bone Netflix adaptation news!
Adam Silvera (Twitter)
I love Adam Silvera – he just seems like such a down-to-earth nice guy online.
Alice Oseman (Twitter)
Loving all the art and Heartstopper updates!
Jay Kristoff (Twitter)
Maybe the longer I follow Jay on Twitter, the sooner I’ll actually pick up the second books in the Nevernight or Illuminae series, right?
Rick Riordan (Twitter)
PERCY JACKSON FOREVER! Also, love a diversity king.
Kat Cho (Twitter)
I started following Kat because of my excitement for her Wicked Fox book release and I stayed because of her fun sense of humor and great taste in kdramas.
WHICH Authors do you FOLLOW ON SOCIAL MEDIA?
I think it’s awesome how fans and authors can follow and interact now- social media is so amazing even with all the downsides and challenges of it haha. So many of these look like awesome accounts- Annette Marie in particular I’ve been wanting to try her stuff.
John Picacio too for his awesome art!
Yeah, though social media definitely has its downsides, it’s undoubtedly awesome to be able to interact with our favorite authors 🙂
V.E. Schwab sounds like a great person to follow.
She really is 🙂
Eoin Colfer is great to follow on Instagram. He often follows his fans back, likes and comments on pictures featuring his books. He’s awesome 😀
I have to admit I haven’t read any Eoin Colfer yet, but I love that he interacts with his fans so well!
I follow Adam Silvera on Twitter as well. His tweets are fun!
He indeed has such a fun social media presence 🙂
These are all great! I find that most authors are fun to follow on social media.
They really are 🙂
I’m not much for following authors on social media, but I do like knowing what they’re working on and when next books can be expected. It’s helpful if they post updates on their social accounts.
It’s definitely fun to get some much-awaited new book information 🙂
I follow VE Schwab, Kat Cho, and Leigh Bardugo on Twitter. They’re great to follow.
They all seem like such great people!
V.E. Schwab is an awesome person to follow! Hannah @ Back Shelf Books
She really is!
Jay Kristoff is fantastic – I follow him on Twitter too. I don’t follow V.E. Schwab on Facebook, but I DO follow her on Twitter and again – fantastic. 🙂
Jay Kristoff and V.E. Schwab both just seem like great people! 🙂
