The 2020 Books I Predict Will Be 5-Star Reads {Top Ten Tuesday}

20200204 5-Star Predictions

Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

Hi everybody, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!

Today’s all about the 2020 books we predict that’ll be 5-star reads. And at first I was really excited about this, because I’m excited about a lot of books but then… it turned out it’s no so easy to predict which books will be 5-star reads and which won’t. I may love a book, but the difference between a 4-star or 4,5-star rating and a 5-star rating is hugely emotional for me and often not only has to do with the book itself, but the emotions I felt while reading it, how invested in the characters I am, how big my book hangover is… Basically, IT’S HARD.

But I tried! So while this list is a little shorter than usual, I think most of these will become 5-star reads for sure. Let’s check in again at the end of the year 😉

Hunting Fiends for the Ill-Equipped by Annette Marie ONLY MOSTLY DEVASTATED BY SOPHIE GONZALEZ SIMON VS. THE HOMO SAPIENS AGENDA meets CLUELESS in this boy-meets-boy spin on Grease

Hunting Fiends for the Ill-Equipped & all other remaining books in the Guild Codex series by Annette Marie

Let’s see, I’ve been raving about this series for a while now. I’ve LOVED every single book so far – so chances are highly likely that I’ll adore all upcoming releases as well!

Bone Crier's Moon by Kathryn Purdie Loveless by Alice Oseman https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/45046743-only-mostly-devastated

BONE CRIER’S MOON BY KATHRYN PURDIE

Enemies-to-lovers. An intricate fantasy world. And a gorgeous cover. Hitting all my spots. Sounds like 5 stars to me.

LOVELESS BY ALICE OSEMAN

Asexual representation written by Alice Oseman? This book already has a spot in my heart and I haven’t even read it yet.

Only Mostly Devastated by Sophie Gonzalez

SIMON VS. THE HOMO SAPIENS AGENDA meets CLUELESS in this boy-meets-boy spin on Grease. I mean YASSSS!

Tweet Cute by Emma Lord Heartstopper vol 3 by Alice Oseman Fence Vol 4 by CS Pacat and Johanna The Mad

Look, I’m a pen pal-trope addict. There I said it. I’m also an enemies-to-lovers addict. AND I love Twitter. So enemies hashing it out through Twitter and falling for eachother in real life? YES PLEASE. Basically, this book was written for me and you can’t tell me otherwise.

Heartstopper volume 3 by Alice Oseman

Again, it’s Alice Oseman. It’s also the cutest graphic novel ever. It’s a safe bet to say this’ll be another 5 stars.

Fence Vol 4 by CS Pacat and Johanna The Mad

MORE FENCE! FINALLY! I feel like I’ve been waiting for the next installment in this fencing graphic novel forever.

Tell Me:
what’s a book you predict will be a 5-star read for you in 2020?
