Welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!

A new year is here, which means… new book releases!! There are so many to be excited for, though for me one definitely stands out from all the rest. I’ll give you a few hints: Privateer, Fox, Royalty and Sass. Ring any bells? πŸ™‚ (It’s King of Scars, cause Nikolai Lantsov is the best…)

But luckily, that’s not the only book to be excited about this year! Here are my most anticipated releases for the first half of 2019:

The Wicked King by Holly Black

The Wicked King by Holly Black

Release date: January 8th

The Cruel Prince was one of my favorite reads of 2018 and I need the sequel so badly. I need to know how the story of Jude and Cardan progresses. PLEASE, I NEED TO KNOW!

Slayer by Kiersten White

Slayer by Kiersten White

Release date: January 8th

Buffy the Vampire Slayer was one of my very first tv obsessions. To this day I still love the tv show with all my heart. To revisit the world of vampires and slayers an get to know new characters is just a lovely bonus.

The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi

The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi

Release date: January 15th

It’s a heist story set in 1889 Paris featuring a band of lovable characters. NEED I SAY MORE?

King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo

King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo

Release date: January 29th

I’ve only been wanting this book ever since I was introduced to the character of Nikolai Lantsov in the Grisha trilogy and he was promptly promoted to my all-time-favorite character. So naturally I’m beyond ecstatic that we’re actually getting more Nikolai and an actual Nikolai-centric book series.

99 Percent Mine by Sally Thorne

99 Percent Mine by Sally Thorne

Release date: January 29th

The Hating Game by Sally Thorne is my all-time favorite romance book. ALL-TIME FAVORITE. SO naturally, my expectations for her second novel are already sky high.

Two Witches and a Whiskey by Annette Marie

GCS3 Two Witches and a Whiskey- AnnetteMarie GR

Release date: February 8th

I’m in love with this series, with this world full of magic and the wonderful characters in it and I am so happy Annette Marie writes so quickly so I can enjoy her stories even faster πŸ˜‰

The Bride Test by Helen Hoang

The Bride Test by Helen Hoang

Release date: May 7th

I fell in love with The Kiss Quotient in 2018 and if this second novel is even almost as good, I’ll be happy.

Aurora Rising by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

Aurora Rising by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

Release date: May 7th

“They’re not the heroes we deserve. They’re just the ones we could find. Nobody panic.”
Misfits in space. Misfits in space! Misfits in space!!

We Hunt The Flame by Hafsah Faizal

We Hunt The Flame by Hafsah Faizal

Release date: May 14th

Ok let’s see what this is about: this #ownvoices YA fantasy, set in a richly reimagined ancient Arabia, follows Zafiraβ€”a young woman who masquerades as a man to seek a lost artifact that could return magic to her cursed worldβ€”and the Prince of Death tasked with killing her. I mean, is there a single word in this description that I do not like? Ancient Arabia + woman masquerading as a man + magic + Prince of Death = I WANT IT!

WICKED FOX by Kat Cho

Release date: June 25th

This story is set in modern-day Seoul and based on the Korean myth of the gumiho, a nine-tailed fox, which has some similarities to the Japanese kitsune. I’m already obsessed with kitsunes, but a books about a gumiho? YES, PLEASE!

  1. I’m sort of curious about Sally’s book because “The Hating Game” received such hype! But since I haven’t read it (and am not sure I’ll like it), I’m not claiming it as one that I’m anticipating. Not yet. πŸ˜€

1: Hope you enjoy all of these!
2: I spy more Leigh Bardugo, which is a note to self: GO READ A BOOK BY LEIGH!
