Hi everybody, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!

I’ve been MIA to Top Ten Tuesday for the past few weeks because life got a little busy, but I am so HAPPY to get this post up, because I LOVE gushing about all the books I want to read and maybe, hopefully, also actually will read soon. And oh boy, does the second half of 2019 deliver with some amazing releases.

LGBTQIA+ Books Made For The Screen: Get These Adapted For Movie Or TV ASAP! {Top Ten Tuesday}

190514 LGTBQIA+ book-to-screen adaptations

Welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!

Today’s topic is all about book-to-screen adaptations and I particularly want to talk about LGBTQIA+ representation on the screen. Though we still have a looong way to go to get great representation on on our screens and not everybody handles it correctly (looking at you, J.K Rowling, Disney and Marvel), there is also some progress.

Tv shows featuring queer characters are existing more and more. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina stars a great trans character, played by an actual non-binary actor. Some of my favorite LGBTQIA+ books have already received the screen adaptation (Love, Simon) and others are on their way (What If It’s Us, They Both Die At The End).

But there’s still plenty of room for more. So big tv and movie execs, if you happen to be reading this (and why wouldn’t you? haha), I highly recommend all of these stories to be adapted for the screen!

Ten Inspirational Quotes For Introverts… And The Extraverts That Love Them {Top Ten Tuesday}

190430 Introvert quotes

Welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!

Today’s all about inspiring quotes! I love me some quotes, and I already did a feature on my favorite quotes, romantic quotes and first lines, as well as my weekly Quote It Wednesday (at the moment sadly still on hiatus), so today I wanted to focus on something near and dear to my heart, and that is introversion.

I’m a very introvert person, and all too often I have to deal with people telling me that I should be different: speak more, get out of my shell, basically change my personality. I even had someone recently who told me, in response to me saying I am the way I am and don’t need to change, that that’s the same things alcoholics say, that it’s just an excuse and there’s no reason we can’t get better. As if introversion is something that needs to be cured (spoiler: it’s not) I have struggled with this a lot, and often cursed myself for not being able to change. But you know what? I am happy the way I am. I like the way I am. And I don’t need to change who I am for anyone!

So here are some of my favorite introvert ‘power-quotes’, quotes that inspire me and cheer me up whenever I’m feeling blue about being an introvert. If you’re an introvert like me, I hope they can inspire you too. And if you’re an extravert, I hope they can inspire you to understand and love your introvert loved ones that little bit more. Either way, introvert, extravert or ambivert: you are awesome, just the way you are!

So here’s to rookie mistakes, not giving up, and getting better one day at a time!

“So Do You Also Read Real Books?” And Other Outrageously Annoying Things People Tell Readers {Top Ten Tuesday}

190409 Outrageous things people tell readers

Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

Welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!

Today I’m deviating a tad (a lot) from the original topic, which should have been ‘Outrageous things I’ve done as a reader’ because honestly, I’m quite boring and not very outrageous. The most outrageous thing I could come up with was reading an entire day and sneaking reads during family gatherings. Not so outrageous, now is it?

But then I thought about outrageous things other people have said to me as a reader. And to other readers. Because really, sometimes people can say really outrageously annoying things to readers. So that’s my post for today. Get ready for some annoyed rants and a lots of tea being served.

Welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!

Today’s all about what makes me pick up a book. Now I’m pretty easy as I tend to like the same tropes and I can read about them over and over and over again. Here are just a few of the things that make me pick up a book for sure (I did not include dragons, but rest assured, dragons ALWAYS work as well).

Welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!

Today’s all about audio! And what perfect timing too, because it’s only been a few weeks since I, an audiobook newbie, fell HEAD OVER HEELS in love with audiobooks.

I’ve always wanted to try them, but never actually got to it. But since I started a new job that required me to drive for longer periods of time (I’m in the car about 1,5 to 2 hours a day), I figured it would be the perfect time to try audiobooks. And I LOVE IT. I’m getting so much reading done, the daily commute seems to fly by and I’m even looking forward to it!

So while I’m still new at this and don’t have that many recommendations yet (Highly recommend Daisy Jones and the Six and The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid though), I want to focus this post on the audiobooks I’m thinking about trying next. Feel free to give me more recs!
