Welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!

Today is all about hidden gems and as I mentioned before – I am not that good at discovering hidden gems. Most books I read are ones that are highly hyped or at least recommended to me already by trusted blogger friends. I am working on this, but in the meantime I asked Goodreads for help. (What would we do without Goodreads?)

I basically checked the list of books I read and sorted them on the number of ratings they received. The first book on my list only received about 40 ratings, while the last one received about 2.600 ratings. Which is not a lot. (To give you an idea: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone has 5.536.439 ratings to date)

So in conclusion: these books are great and deserve some more love!

Hi everybody, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!

Today’s time to take a look back at 2017 and talk about my favorite reads of the year. I started off 2017 with a lot of reading and quite quickly got ahead of my reading goals for the year. Until my major reading slump happened and I barely read anything for months… But even with that slump, I luckily still managed to read quite a few amazing books! (And now that my reading slump seems to be over, I’m hoping to still read quite a few more before the year is over 😉 )

So without further ado, here are my favorite books that I read in 2017, in no particular order (note: these are not necessarily released in 2017. I just READ them this year):

Hi everybody, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!

In honor of Thanksgiving week in the US, today is all about being thankful. More specifically, what books we are thankful for.

Now, I’m thankful for a lot of books. For lots of reasons. So narrowing this down was… tough. I decided to split it into categories as to why I am thankful for a book in particular, which came a little easier for me. But I would just like to note that some of these books definitely fit into more than one categorie. And I am probably forgetting a lot of books as well. But anyway, here it goes!

Hi everybody, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!

Today is all about book titles. I can imagine that coming up with a great, unique title for a book is one of the hardest things out there. Because, no matter how much I love those titles with kings, queens, princes or princesses in them, they’re not exactly inspired either. But once in a while, there are books out there where the title alone draws you in. No matter the cover or the content. Sometimes that bookish love at first sight happens purely based on the title.

That’s what happened with me and the following books!

September 2017: The Month The Reading Slump Dragged On {Monthly Wrap Up}

September 2017

Hi guys, and welcome to my September wrap up!

Well, the good news is that I managed to more or less get back on track with posting regularly in September. HUZZAH! The bad news is that my reading slump is still on and off. I mean, I WANT to read. I took 7 books with me on my 6-day holiday and I was super excited to read each and every single one. But I read just one. ONE. Plus one more during the rest of the month, which makes for a total of 2 books read this month. And boy, do I feel guilty. Am I still allowed to even call myself a book blogger here? (#dramaqueen)

Anyway, I am so looking forward to October (also known as Halloween season), so here’s hoping the October magic will work on me and turn me into a lean, mean reading machine once more. But first, let’s wrap up September!

My rating in words: LOVED this book!

WHAT IT’S ABOUT:

After a shout-out from one of the Internet’s superstar vloggers, Natasha “Tash” Zelenka finds herself and her obscure, amateur web series, Unhappy Families, thrust into the limelight: She’s gone viral.

Her show is a modern adaptation of Anna Karenina—written by Tash’s literary love Count Lev Nikolayevich “Leo” Tolstoy. Tash is a fan of the forty thousand new subscribers, their gushing tweets, and flashy Tumblr GIFs. Not so much the pressure to deliver the best web series ever.

And when Unhappy Families is nominated for a Golden Tuba award, Tash’s cyber-flirtation with Thom Causer, a fellow award nominee, suddenly has the potential to become something IRL—if she can figure out how to tell said crush that she’s romantic asexual.

Tash wants to enjoy her newfound fame, but will she lose her friends in her rise to the top? What would Tolstoy do?

Hi everybody, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!

Today’s all about my favorite season: FALL. And what goes perfectly with fall? That’s right, reading! So naturally my fall TBR is huge and intimidating. But here’s the top ten books I’m planning to tackle first this fall!

(Sidenote: as this post goes live, I’ll ironically be enjoying my last taste of summer for this year while I’m on holiday in Tenerife (and hopefully getting a lot of reading in…). So please excuse me if I’m a bit late in replying to comments and bloghopping – I promise I’ll catch up soon!)
