Welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!

Today’s topic is all about book-to-screen adaptations and I particularly want to talk about LGBTQIA+ representation on the screen. Though we still have a looong way to go to get great representation on on our screens and not everybody handles it correctly (looking at you, J.K Rowling, Disney and Marvel), there is also some progress.

Tv shows featuring queer characters are existing more and more. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina stars a great trans character, played by an actual non-binary actor. Some of my favorite LGBTQIA+ books have already received the screen adaptation (Love, Simon) and others are on their way (What If It’s Us, They Both Die At The End).

But there’s still plenty of room for more. So big tv and movie execs, if you happen to be reading this (and why wouldn’t you? haha), I highly recommend all of these stories to be adapted for the screen!

March 2019: The Month Audiobooks Saved My Reading Life {Monthly Wrap Up}

Hi everybody, and welcome to my March wrap up!

Well, is it just me or did March really just fly by? With us having moved end of February, March has been a month of getting settled again. It’s amazing how much stuff needs to be done – we’ve been doing things pretty much every evening and weekend but there’s still so much to do. I haven’t even gotten started on alerting several institutions of my address change *oops*

With everything going on, I feel like my reading is suffering a lot. I read one physical book this month, and it was spread over an entire month. I just can’t seem to focus and if I try ty sit down and relax with a book I fall asleep before my chapter is even finished. SO YAY AUDIOBOOKS FOR SAVING THE DAY! When I started listening to audiobooks, I was worried about getting an Audible subscription since I wasn’t sure I could get to one audiobook a month. This month I listed to THREE. Not good for my finances, but my reading life is pretty happy…
