Hi everybody, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!

Today’s time to take a look back at 2017 and talk about my favorite reads of the year. I started off 2017 with a lot of reading and quite quickly got ahead of my reading goals for the year. Until my major reading slump happened and I barely read anything for months… But even with that slump, I luckily still managed to read quite a few amazing books! (And now that my reading slump seems to be over, I’m hoping to still read quite a few more before the year is over 😉 )

So without further ado, here are my favorite books that I read in 2017, in no particular order (note: these are not necessarily released in 2017. I just READ them this year):

Ten Reasons Why The Red Winter Trilogy Is THE Hidden Gem YA Fantasy {Top Ten Tuesday}

170829 Hidden Gem

Hi everybody, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!

As you may have guessed from this weeks’ title, I’m kind of cheating. The actual post for today should have been ‘Top Ten Hidden Gems in X Genre’. But, as I have explained in the past, I am the absolute worst at discovering hidden gems. My TBR consists mostly of a huge backlist of popular books I still need to get to. I very rarely pick up a book when I have not heard about it before or have not been recommended it by my bookish friends. It’s a big shame of mine and I’m constantly working on it. Add to that the fact that I just got out of a reading slump and well, I wouldn’t be able to give you any hidden gems that I haven’t already talked about before.

However, I did discover one magnificent, glorious hidden gem this year so I figured “Why not talk about that series in particular?” I mean, it’s not like I’ve already raved about this in the past. Or sneakily tried to include it in pretty much every Top Ten Tuesday since. Right? Erm…

Anyway, with that said, please allow me to introduce you to the wonderful Red Winter trilogy by Annette Marie and present to you TEN reasons why it’s THE hidden gem you need on your YA fantasy lovin’ bookshelf!

Hi guys, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!

Since we’re about halfway through 2017, it’s a good time to reflect already on the past half year. And since I’m me and I also love to obsess, let’s reflect on what I obsessed most about this year. In terms of books. Because I obsess a lot and well, I need to limit it somehow or else we’ll be here a while.

So come and obsess with me about the ten best books I’ve read in 2017 (so far)!

April 2017: The Month I Finally Read Illuminae, Watched A Ton Of Kdrama And Fell In Love With BIGBANG & BTS {Monthly Wrap Up}

April 2017

Hi and welcome to my April wrap up!

April has been a little weird and off in a few ways…

Unfortunately my reading slump, which started in March, continued in April and as such, I only read 3 books. On the bright side, two of those books were five-star reads… I’m hoping they will have helped shake off this slump and I’m back on track for May.

My blogging slump has also continued so I am sorry for the reduced number of posts and huge delays in commenting and job hopping. On the bright side, I did get a few posts up I loved working on, like my top ten fandoms or the pros and cons of telling people about your blog.

So without further ado, let’s get into my April!

What it’s about:

Once, Emi believed the heavenly gods were righteous and wise, while the earthly yokai spirits were bloodthirsty and evil. But with a traitorous deity poised to destroy her world, and the yokai standing as humanity’s only defense, the lies of her upbringing have toppled to reveal a far more terrifying reality.

Despite the looming threat, Emi can’t escape her greatest distraction: Shiro, the fox yokai who has so deftly claimed her heart for his own. Soon—too soon—she will have to break the curse that binds his magic and memories. And once the ancient power inside him awakens, the yokai she loves will be changed forever.

As the earthly gods gather to wage war against the heavens, Emi and Shiro must gamble everything to turn the tide against their immortal, all-powerful foes. Together, they will find a way to save her world—even if it means losing each other.
