Welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!

Today’s post is all about books that awaken the travel bug in me. Now, I did a post on travel locations books helped put on my travel bucketlist already earlier this year, so this time I wanted to get more specific and talk about books set in my current number one dream travel destination: Japan.

While I’m hoping of travelling to Japan myself some day, in the meantime I have these books to keep me dreaming!

Ten Books I Struggled To Get Into But Ended Up All-Time Favorites Anyway {Top Ten Tuesday}

Hi everybody, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!

Today’s Top Ten is all about books that I struggled to get into. Now, beginnings are something I usually struggle with. As much as I love reading a new story and getting to know new characters, the beginning is almost always a struggle.

I start reading and find I have to force myself to continue reading. But usually when I’m reading and get a few chapters in (this can be from the 2nd or third chapter, but it can also be about halfway the book), I start getting invested in the story and attached to the characters. And THAT’s when I switch from forcing myself to read to really enjoying a book. And this struggle with beginnings is something that’s a ME-thing, not a BOOK-thing. Because some books or series that have become my all-time favorites started as a book I was really struggling to get into.

You may be surprised by some of the books I had this issue with…

June 2017: The Month of Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes… & A Blogging Announcement {Monthly Wrap Up}

June 2017

Hi guys, and welcome to my June wrap up!

June was pretty… eventful. I actually didn’t read a lot, I didn’t listen to a lot of music and I didn’t watch a lot of movies and tv. But some great things did happen to me and a lot of things changed. Things that have also led me to make a blogging announcement. I’ll explain everything in my post below, but first let’s talk about what I did read/listen to/watch in June!

What it’s about:

The only daughter of a prominent samurai, Mariko has always known she’d been raised for one purpose and one purpose only: to marry. Never mind her cunning, which rivals that of her twin brother, Kenshin, or her skills as an accomplished alchemist. Since Mariko was not born a boy, her fate was sealed the moment she drew her first breath.

So, at just seventeen years old, Mariko is sent to the imperial palace to meet her betrothed, a man she did not choose, for the very first time. But the journey is cut short when Mariko’s convoy is viciously attacked by the Black Clan, a dangerous group of bandits who’ve been hired to kill Mariko before she reaches the palace.

The lone survivor, Mariko narrowly escapes to the woods, where she plots her revenge. Dressed as a peasant boy, she sets out to infiltrate the Black Clan and hunt down those responsible for the target on her back. Once she’s within their ranks, though, Mariko finds for the first time she’s appreciated for her intellect and abilities. She even finds herself falling in love—a love that will force her to question everything she’s ever known about her family, her purpose, and her deepest desires.

Hi guys and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!

Seeing as spring is almost here (and boy, am I ready for spring to begin!), today’s all about the books that I’m planning to read this spring.

I divided this list in two parts:

  1. New spring releases, because is it just me or is this spring filled with amazing new book releases?
  2. Books from my backlist, because I’m still trying to tackle that monster of a TBR so while I’m being bombarded with new releases I also still want to catch up with some older books.

Will I succesfully be able to read all these books in the upcoming springtime? Who knows, but I’m already super excited to get to each and every one of them so I’ll definitely be trying!
