August 2017: The Month Of… Wait, Weren’t We July Like Yesterday? {Monthly Wrap Up}

August 2017

Hi guys, and welcome to my August wrap up!

So I know it’s pretty standard to say that time flies, but seriously, where did August go? I am seriously so confused, like why is time going by so fast and I still feel like I’m getting nothing done? Even though, when I wrap it up below, it turns out I did get some things done. Just not as much as I would have wanted, ha! (Adulting is exhausting, lemme tell you!)

So without further ado, let’s get into my wrap up for August!

July 2017: The Month Of My First Hiatus (But Now I’m Back! Well, Mostly…) {Monthly Wrap Up}

July 2017

Hi guys, and welcome to my July wrap up!

As you may recall, I announced my first-ever semi-hiatus at the beginning of July. It was a tough decision, but I had been in a slump for too long already and I needed a little break and time to figure out a new blogging & life balance. And though I felt SUPER guilty about it, I’m happy I did it. I may not be 100% back yet, but I have a new-found drive to read and blog again. So please be patient with me over the next few weeks as I slowly but surely get back to blogging! In the meantime, let’s get into what I did during this hiatus:

Ten Reasons To Love Death Note {Something Different Sunday}

Death Note

Hi guys, and welcome to a new ‘Something Different Sunday’, where I take the opportunity to talk about… well, something different than books.

Last time I talked about K-pop, and this time I want to talk about another recent obsession of mine. If you have been following my blog for a while, I’m sure it will come as absolutely no surprise whatsoever when I utter the following words: Death Note!

I’ve been a huge Death Note fandom since January this year, when I rediscovered anime and was recommended to try the Death Note anime. Now we’re a few months later, and I finished the complete anime series, splurged on the complete manga collection, watched 3 of the live action movies and the complete tv drama and have even become addicted to the musical songs, both English and Korean. So I think it’s safe to say I have a slight obsession. And absolutely no regrets, because Death Note is pretty amazing! So why not share the love and give you a few reasons why I think this so amazing?

Ten Fandoms That Have Been Prominent In My Life {Top Ten Tuesday}

Hi guys, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday! Today is all about fandoms.

According to Wikipedia:
Fandom is a term used to refer to a subculture composed of fans characterized by a feeling of empathy and camaraderie with others who share a common interest.

Now, I admit I am a HUGE fangirl. The phrase “I don’t like, I OBSESS.” definitely applies to me. I just love feeling passionate about something I like, and sharing that with other fans who feel the same. It’s why I started blogging about books. It’s why I love going to live shows by my fave bands and artists. It’s why I love fan fiction and fan art.

That’s why I think I’m a member of a LOT of fandoms. I could never really limit it to just ten, so I decided to feature a few fandoms that are the ones I believe have made the most impact on my life so far. They are the ones I will think about first when I think about fandoms and the ones I believe other people may connect to me the most. Am I still active in all of them? Not necessarily. Do I love every single song by that band, or every episode of a show? Not necessarily. But do I still care deeply about them all and will I still keep excitedly rambling on about it when the opportunity arises? OH YES.

Also, I didn’t really feature the book fandom, because… duh. I think we can also assume that I am in the fandom for all of my all-time favorite books. So these favorites are mostly movies, tv and music. Let’s go!

March 2016: The Month Of Reading Slumps, Divide, The Death Note Musical, J-Dramas and… K-Pop? {Monthly Wrap Up}

March 2017

Hi and welcome to my March wrap up!

My March was… well, quite different from January and February readingwise. For the first two months of the year I was on a reading roll. I read an amazing amount of books in those months. But in March, it all came to a standstill and the reading slump hit hard! No particular reason, I just haven’t felt like reading at all. I also put myself on a book-buying ban for the whole month of March, so I could catch up on my TBR and the books already on my shelf. So… THAT WENT WELL.

If not reading, what have I been doing with my free time? Well, I’ve mostly been binge-watching Japanese drama series and anime. Yep. I am curious to see what April will bring. I do hope to get back to reading because I do miss it, but I just don’t want to force myself.

So anyway, here’s my complete March wrap up.

February 2017: The Month Of Kitsunes, Greek Myths, Shinigamis and… Spider-Man Music? {Monthly Wrap Up}

February 2017

Hi and welcome to my February wrap up!

February has been filled with many new obsessions. I don’t think I’ve ever read more in my life, I fell in love with a new fantasy book series on Japanese mythology, I got back into some Greek mythology fantasy books, I fell deeper into the black hole that is anime and I discovered some new (to me) music.

But… it also caused a bit of a blogging slump and for that I’d like to apologize to my blogger friends. I’ve been so sucked into my new obsessions that I’ve been slacking on blogging. I haven’t felt like writing a lot of posts so I stuck with just the basic: Top Ten Tuesday posts and reviews. I’ve also been so behind on commenting. So… I’m really sorry! Here’s hoping March will be better on that front.

Anyway, here’s my wrap up of all those obsessions:

Top Ten Fictional Character Crushes {Top Ten Tuesday}

170228 TTT Fictional Crushes

Hosted by The Broke & The Bookish

Hi guys, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday! Today’s a freebie, so I thought I’d take this time to talk about some of my all-time favorite fictional character crushes!

One of the most important things for me when reading a book or hearing a story are the characters. I crush on fictional characters all the time. In fact, if I don’t fall in love with any of the characters, chances are I don’t like the book as much, no matter the writing or plot. I NEED to feel things for the characters. I NEED to fall in love with them for some reason. I NEED to be thinking about certain characters long after finishing the book or turning off the tv.

So, while this list is soo much longer than ten (but hey, we’ve got to start somewhere), I give you a list of the first ten characters that came to mind when I thought about fictional crushes. This list will contain characters from books as well as from TV or movies. And, to limit myself a bit more, I chose only one character per series, though this was quite hard in some cases as well.

So without further ado, let’s get started!

January 2017: The Month Of The DAReadathon, Contemporary Faves, Ed Sheeran, Ambitions & A Whole Lot Of Anime {Monthly Wrap Up}

January 2017

Hi and welcome to my first wrap up of 2017!

January has been pretty busy reading and blogging wise, so I hope you’re ready for a looong post 🙂 I have read 12 books, 3 of which were re-reads and I think that’s been one of my best reading months EVER, so yay for me! I entered my first readathon of the year and actually did okay. I’ve slowly but surely been discovering some new music. AND I’ve fallen in love with some new tv and movies. So let’s get into it!
