Welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!

Normally today was reserved to talk about wintery reads, but honestly? I don’t have any particular wintery reads. In winter I often do like to re-read old favorites, but I didn’t feel like that warranted a post. Now, what I do love to do in winter more than any other season, is binge-watch short and addictive tv series.

You know, the kind of show that doesn’t have too many episodes, but just enough to get you hooked and looking forward to watching a new episode (or two, three) every evening with a cozy blanket and a hot chocolate. Here are some of my favorites!

Welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!

Today I’d like to focus on one of my own weak spots when it comes to stories, and that is friendship. Because as much as I love a good romance, I think it’s equally important for a story to have great, epic friendships.

Great friendships can carry a story and warm the heart just as well, if not more so than a romance can. They are so important and usually books that feature friendships turn out to be some of my all time favorites. So that’s why today’s post features some of my favorite fictional BFF’s and friend groups. Let me know if you have any other recommendation for books featuring friendships!

My Favorite Binge-Worthy TV Shows {Top Ten Tuesday}

180904 Binge-Worthy TV Shows

Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

Welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!

With the new TV season starting, today is all about binge-worthy TV shows! (Because it doesn’t always have to be about books). Now, I used to be a huge tv show junkie. Meaning, I followed about 10-15 shows religiously and watched them every evening as soon as they came out. Lately, I’ve almost stopped that completely. Why?

One, because a lot of shows I used to love just seem to go on too long and I end up losing interest.
Two, because I started preferring binge-watching shows with shorter seasons over weekly watching shows with longer seasons.

To me, shorter seasons make for tighter storylines and are just much more fun to binge-watch. I watch them for a certain period, as long as it takes me to finish them, and then I move on to the next tv show. So these are a few of my latest binge-watch obsessions!

May 2018: The Month of Finales, Sequels & Spin-Offs {Monthly Wrap Up}

May 2018

Hi everybody, and welcome to my May wrap up!

May was one of those months which seemed to last forever, but that’s only because I feel like I did so much. Every day has been a hustle from beginning to end, and I am both exhausted and happy. I’ve also been a terrible blogger since I am so behind on comments and bloghopping I may never catch up again, but I swear I have good reasons which I’ll explain later in this post. So please forgive me and catch up with what I did in May:

Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty {Quote It Wednesday}

QIW 1 blog

Background: Designed by kjpargeter / Freepik

Hi everybody! Today is the first installment of a new idea on my blog. Since I have a thing for quotes, I thought it would be nice to feature a random book quote each week.

Today I feature a quote from my recent read Big Little Lies, coming from my favorite character Madeline. I love this quote for its honesty and sassiness and because I think it just beautifully shows part of Madeline’s character. And though I may try to be forgiving and let go and all that, when it comes down to it, I do think I can hold a mean grudge just like Madeline…

What do you think of this quote? How are you with grudges?
Are you similar to Madeline or are you more forgiving?

My rating in stars: 4,5 stars
My rating in words: LOVED IT!

WHAT IT’S ABOUT:

Big Little Lies follows three women, each at a crossroads:

Madeline is a force to be reckoned with. She’s funny and biting, passionate, she remembers everything and forgives no one. Her ex-husband and his yogi new wife have moved into her beloved beachside community, and their daughter is in the same kindergarten class as Madeline’s youngest (how is this possible?). And to top it all off, Madeline’s teenage daughter seems to be choosing Madeline’s ex-husband over her. (How. Is. This. Possible?).

Celeste is the kind of beautiful woman who makes the world stop and stare. While she may seem a bit flustered at times, who wouldn’t be, with those rambunctious twin boys? Now that the boys are starting school, Celeste and her husband look set to become the king and queen of the school parent body. But royalty often comes at a price, and Celeste is grappling with how much more she is willing to pay.

New to town, single mom Jane is so young that another mother mistakes her for the nanny. Jane is sad beyond her years and harbors secret doubts about her son. But why? While Madeline and Celeste soon take Jane under their wing, none of them realizes how the arrival of Jane and her inscrutable little boy will affect them all.

Big Little Lies is a brilliant take on ex-husbands and second wives, mothers and daughters, schoolyard scandal, and the dangerous little lies we tell ourselves just to survive.

April 2018: The Month Of Clumsy Nymphs, Immortal Jinni and Scary Moms {Monthly Wrap Up}

April 2018

Hi everybody, and welcome to my April wrap up!

My April was weird in that I had the feeling that I read so much, but then with making this wrap-up it turned out I only read three books. Which is not bad, I just could have sworn I read more, you know? But it’s all good, I did get to watch a few movies  so you know I’ve been super productive. Ahem. So here’s what I was up to in April!
