Characters I’d Love An Update On (Where Are They Now That The Book Is Over?)

20211123 Characters I'd Love An Update On

Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

Hi everybody, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!

Today we’re talking about characters we’d love an update on after the book ended. It’s always so nice to go on a journey with these characters, but then the book ends and I just… miss those characters. I’m not usually one for novellas and sequels or spin-offs can turn out disappointing, but for these books below, I’d be willing to risk it as I just need more of these characters.

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

An update on everyone would be nice, but I’m especially interested in whatever Manon and Dorian are up to.

The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune

I just want more of the little found family that took over my heart.

Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall

WE’RE GETTING AN UPDATE IN 2022, SO I’M SUPER EXCITED TO CHECK BACK IN WITH LUC AND OLIVER.

Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas

I really want to know what Yadriel, Julian and Maritza are up to.

Any Mhairi McFarlane couple

I’ve read 3 Mhairi McFarlane books, and each time I become so invested in the main couple but I never feel like I spent quite enough time with them. So in this case I wouldn’t mind a novella with a little more closure. I need some more happy moments, domestic moments, emotional moments and everything in between.

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab

Ugh, that ending was brutal. I need more. Please, please tell me what’s next for Addie, Henry and Luc.

The Switch by Beth O’Leary

I’d love a little look into the lives of Leena and Eileen and see how they are doing.

Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson

I LOVE that this was a standalone, but also I loved it so much that I wouldn’t mind a sequel if it meant more Elisabeth and Nathaniel.

Red Winter by Annette Marie

Look, this is my all-time favorite series and I felt like the ending was perfect. But also, I miss my babies Emi, Shiro and Yumei so much and wouldn’t mind some updates on them either.

  3. I feel like I didn’t totally understand Addie LaRue, so an update would be nice!

    1. Same, I’m so excited! 🙂

  5. I would so love an update on all of the characters from The House in the Cerulean Sea! That would be so fun!

My TTT isn’t posted yet because I’m migrating blog hosts right now and it’s not done yet. Hopefully later today.

    1. A few short stories depicting their lives throughout the years would be so much fun indeed.
Oh good luck with the blog migration, hope it’ll go without a glitch!

      1. Thanks! It’s still going…but hopefully will be done sometime today.

  6. I wouldn’t have minded a longer epilogue in Addie LaRue. I’m not sure that my heart could handle another book…but like you, I’d like a little more detail on what happened.

    Happy TTT!

    1. Oh you’re so right, another book like that would be heavy for the heart, but some more tidbits on what happened afterwards would be nice 🙂

  7. I still haven’t finished the ToG series but I did like Manon and she seems to be a popular pick today! I’d definitely love to know what’s happening with Linus, Arthur & the kids! 🥰 I’d also love to know what mischief Yadriel & Julian are getting up to latley 😆 Great list!

    1. Thanks! Manon is definitely one of the most loved characters in the ToG series and I agree completely 😀

  8. I would love a House in the Cerulean Sea character update especially! Same with the Throne of Glass cast, I bet there would be some interesting stories to catch up on!

    1. Exactly, updates on those characters would be so great!

    1. It would be so nice indeed! I’d even take a little novella about them!

  10. I would totally support sequels to Addie LaRue and Cemetery Boys. I loved both those books.

    1. They’re both indeed such great books with characters we need more of 🙂

  11. I have not read any of these but I have a Beth O’Leary book on my TBR list. Happy Tuesday! Here is my post: https://cindysbookcorner.blogspot.com/2021/11/top-ten-tuesday-thanksgiving-edition.html

Some interesting titles. I always hate to say goodbye to beloved characters, so we definitely need more updates. LOL

Thanks for visiting my TTT which is a top twenty this week.

    1. Absolutely 🙂

  14. Ok so there is The House in the Cerulean Sea again – that has come up quite a bit lately in my life and been recommended to me, I think that is a clear sign to read this book.

I have The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue on my TBR list.

I’ve also been flirting around with Sorcery of Thorns.

Guess it’s time to go back to ready 2 books at once – I have too many already on my TBR, and just keep adding more with the TTT topics.

    1. Haha, I know how you feel with adding all the books to the TBR because of TTT topics 🙂 Though I’d DEFINITELY suggest The House in the Cerulean Sea and Sorcery of Thorns!

  15. YES to Addie LaRue! The story felt almost unfinished to me.

    1. Same, I need a conclusion of some sorts!

  16. I’m the opposite. I love reading books in a series because I know I won’t have to say goodbye to my favorite characters anytime soon!

    Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

    1. That’s definitely one of the major benefits of series vs standalones!

  17. So many great ones here. I’d especially love an update on the characters from The House in the Cerulean Sea. They are some of my all time favorite fictional characters.

    1. Thanks! Oh yes, the characters from The House in the Cerulean Sea were all just so precious.
