Top Ten Tuesday

Twelve Spring 2021 Releases On My TBR

Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

Hi everybody, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!

Spring is almost here and I AM SO READY for it! Not only because it means an end to those cold and dark winter days, but also because it means SO MANY AMAZING BOOK RELEASES! I have a feeling I won’t get a lot of backlist reading done this spring, because I’ll pretty much constantly be distracted by all the shiny new releases! So here’s my very exciting spring TBR:

Rule of Wolves by Leigh Bardugo

release date: March 30th 2021
More Nikolai. More Zoya. More Nina. More of Leigh Bardugo’s beautiful writing and more of the world of Grisha.

Twice Shy by Sarah Hogle

release date: April 6th
A woman inheriting an old house from her great aunt and the gorgeous yet grouchy groundskeeper who has different visions for the property’s future sounds like a match made in bookish romance heaven to me.

Second First Impressions by Sally Thorne

release date: April 13th
I love The Hating Game so much that any new Sally Thorne is an auto-read. And this story about a retirement home manager who hires a muscular, tattooed man as an assistant to two old women sounds like it could be just as good.

In Deeper Waters by F.T. Lukens

release date: April 20th 2021
“A young prince must rely on a mysterious stranger to save him when he is kidnapped during his coming-of-age tour in this swoony adventure that is The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue meets Pirates of the Caribbean.
I mean, yes please.

The Road Trip by Beth O’Leary

release date: April 29th 2021
A new book by Beth O’ Leary. Road trip. Scotland. Second chance romance. Yep, definitely have high hopes for this one.

The Crown of Gilded Bones by Jennifer L. Armentrout

release date: April 20th 2021
After the major cliffhanger at the end of book two, I need more Poppy and Hawke (and Kieran) and I need it now!

One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston

release date: May 6th
Red White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston quickly became one of my all-time favorite books, so of course I have high hopes for One Last Stop. Add to that the fact that this is a time-travel rom-com with a focus on queer history, and I AM SOLD!

People We Meet On Vacation by Emily Henry

release date: May 11th 2021
Friends-to-enemies-to-lovers from the author of Beach Read equals one very excited me.

Heartstopper: Volume Four by Alice Oseman

release date: May 13th
This is the most adorable graphic novel ever, so of course I want the next installment and I want it now.

The Soulmate Equation by Christina Lauren

release date: May 18th
I have yet to read a Christina Lauren book I don’t like so adding this to my TBR feels like a no-brainer. I’m already super excited about the hate-to-love, fake dating and science nerd aspects!

Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid

release date: May 25th
I’m still behind on the Taylor Jenkins Reid train, but I loved both The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and Daisy Jones & The Six, so I’m super excited about her next book, Malibu Rising. It sounds like a tense read filled with family secrets and I’m here for it.

The Layover by Lacie Waldon

release date: June 15th
Blurb: “…Stranded at a luxury resort in paradise with her nemesis…”
Me: I’LL TAKE IT!

  1. I need to get Malibu Rising. I liked her Maybe In Another Life. I liked the Alice Oseman I read too. 🙂

    1. Oh I definitely still want to read Maybe In Another Life!

  2. I keep forgetting that Rule of Wolves is coming out soon. Despite all the shadow and bone shoutings haha.

I really love the colors on the cover of volume 4 of Heartstopper. But I usually ask the next volume for my birthday which is in October so I’ll have to wait. Boo.

    1. Haha yeah, it definitely feels a bit like the Shadow and Bone adaptation is kind of overshadowing Rule of Wolves – but as long as they’re both as amazing as they sound, it’s all good 😀
That’s such a great tradition to ask for the next Heartstopper edition for your birthday! Even if it is indeed still a bit of a wait, but so worth it!

  3. I’m making my way through Leigh Bardugo’s books as well. I’m so excited for Malibu Rising. Happy reading! My TTT https://readwithstefani.com/upcoming-readathons-and-spring-tbr/
