The Book Covers I Love And The Things They Have In Common {Top Ten Tuesday}

Book covers I love

Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

Hi everybody, and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday!

Today was a cover freebie and though the options were limitless, I was in the mood to just randomly talk about all the covers I love. But when I just added all my favorite covers to this post, it turned out I’m also still me and I needed to find patterns and bring order to the chaos. And so I discovered a few things that my favorite covers have in common.

Basically, what are the secret ingrediΓ«nts to make me love a cover?

I just love the way her art looks, I’m so happy she’s gotten opportunities to do book covers.

Annette Marie covers

Did you know that Annnette Marie not only writes 4-5 books a year, but she also creates her own covers? I am in awe.

Who else has that one song stuck in their head now? Anyway, apparently I really like this color combo.

Solid Backgrounds and Cute Graphics

I like cute things. I like graphics. And apparently I like simple solid backgrounds. So this cute graphical style is just my thing.

Jenn Bennett covers

Look, I was collecting book covers I loved and all of this lady’s books came up, so… maybe I like people looking away from the camera? Maybe I like pictures with gold in them? Or maybe I just like the everyday-magic vibe these covers give me.

Hauntingly elegant graphics

Sometimes, a (relatively) simple graphic can portray a certain mood much better than an overly intricateΒ  one.

Black, red and white AKA V.E. Schwab covers

And another color combo, or is it author cover love?

what do you like in a Book cover? Anything we have in common?

  1. I really like how you put the vibe of Jenn’s books, “everyday magic.” That FITS so well. Her book covers have that same dreamy vibe that just works. Also all about cute graphics with pops of colors, and I’m seeing this trend so much nowadays (illustrated covers, etc.). It’s a look, and it works. πŸ™‚

    1. You’re right, I LOVE the dreamy vibe of Jenn Bennett books! And the illustrated covers are indeed such a trend, but one I don’t mind at all πŸ™‚

  2. Ooh a lot of these are faves of mine too. Sorcery of Thorns, Two Witches and a Whisky (all the covers in that series are awesome), and Fangirl- plus the Jenn Bennett covers also are awesome.

    1. I think Two Witches and a Whisky is my favorite Annette Marie cover to date πŸ™‚

  3. You did a nice job grouping your favorites. I modified this week’s topic, though you can see my favorite books with their covers! My favorite YA Books of the decade with covers.

    1. Thanks!

  4. Jenn Bennett’s covers are magical! I still haven’t read any of them yet, but they are on my tbr, mostly because of the covers. πŸ™‚
