December 2019: The Month of Christmas Fluff and Re-Reads {Monthly Wrap Up}

December Wrap Up

Hi everybody, and welcome to my December wrap up!

Happy New Year! 2019’s been pretty weird reading and blogging wise for me. Readingwise because I made the switch to (mostly) audiobooks this year and bloggingwise because I felt like I was on hiatus most of the time… I’m trying to get back to normal in 2020, but first here’s what I’ve been up to in December.

What I Read

10 Blind Dates by Ashley Elston Get A Life Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert The Christmas Pact by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward

 Blind Dates by AShley Elston

Since I was still in the mood for lots of fluffy romance, I picked up 10 Blind Dates which is a YA Christmas romance about a girl whose boyfriend breaks up with her right before Christmas so her (huge and super fun) family decides to set her up on 10 blind dates until New Years to get her mind off of it. This was super fun, especially the big family and all their shenanigans. I highly enjoyed this fluffy book.

Get a Life, CHloe Brown by Talia HIbbert

This was my first Talia Hibbert and I must say I’m definitely looking forward to reading more by her. This was such a nice romance, featuring a chronically ill main character that is just so darn adorable. I must say, I personally did not like the audiobook narrator for this one as her narration took me out of the story a lot, but I definitely recommend the physical copy.

The Christmas pact by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward

There was a promotion on Audible to get this Christmas novella for free so naturally I jumped right on that. It sounded so fun: Riley Kennedy’s emails keep getting mixed up with her colleague Kennedy Riley and she doesn’t like it since he keeps giving his opinion on all her mails. But they’re both dreading the Holidays for several reasons so when they finally meet at the office Christmas party, they agree to pretend to be eachother’s date for their families during the Christmas holidays. This was fun, but not memorable and I mostly disliked the fact that I still thought Kennedy was a jerk for most of the story.

RE-READ EXTRAVAGANZA

Captive Prince by C.S. Pacat Prince's Gambit by C.S. Pacat Kings Rising by C.S. Pacat

The Summer Palace by C.S. Pacat Red White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

During the last few weeks of the year, I wasn’t in the mood to start anything new, so I reread my fave Captive prince series (still love it) and this year’s fave Red White & Royal Blue (yep, still love it too).

Blog Features

No posts this month due to semi-hiatus…

What I Listened To

Ehh well I mostly listened to my Spotify ‘most listed to songs of 2019’ playlist. Buuut Stray Kids had a comeback in December, so you can bet I listened to that album a ton.

Stray Kids – Levanter

Honestly, I wasn’t THAT in love with Double Knot or Astronaut, but Levanter owns my heart.

What I Watched

Sorry still no TV this month…

Life Update

Things that made me happy this month:

  • The Holidays: I had a week and a half off of work this month for the Holidays and I loved it (even though I of course got sick on day one, boo).
  • VR gaming with work. On the last day of work we went on a virtual reality team building trip with work and I fell in love with VR gaming. We played a game called Elven Assassin where you had to shoot orcs and trolls and dragons with a bow and arrow and it was so much fun.

THINGS I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:

  • A Heart So Fierce and Broken by Brigid Kemmerer releases!
  • Druid Vides and a Vodka by Annette Marie releases!
HOW WAS YOUR December? WHAT DID YOU READ? WHAT DID YOU LISTEN TO AND WHAT DID YOU WATCH? WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR January?
