Monthly Wrap Up: July 2016

Hi and welcome to a new monthly wrapup!

July has been… again… a bit underwhelming readingwise. I had a lot of other things to do and reading got a little bit procrastinated. I hope August will be a lot better though!

I have some holidays planned in August so usually that’s the time to get some more reading done. It also does mean that I will have a bit less blog posts up than usual. I’ll see what I can do though πŸ™‚

What I read

  • Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch (review)
  • Ice Like Fire by Sara Raasch (review)
  • Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson (review)
  • The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater (review)

What I listened to

Just like last month, I’ve still pretty much been obsessed with All Time Low, Sleeping With Sirens and Pierce The Veil. Here’s a random selection of songs:

All Time Low – Weightless
“If I could just find the time
then I would never let another day go by
I’m over getting old”

Pierce The Veil – Circles
“And I said, “Hey, what’s on your mind?” I think about my life without you and I start to cry
And I said, “Hey, it’s alright” We’ll make it. I love you and I’ll never leave your side”

Sleeping With Sirens – Roger Rabbit
“Is there a right way for being strong? Feels like I’m doing things all wrong
Still I’m here just holding on. Confess my heart and forgive my wrongs.”

And then… I finally gave in and listened to the Hamilton soundtrack. And at first I was like ‘meh… this is okay I guess. Maybe not my thing though’. But then I kept listening. And then I pressed repeat. And before I knew it I was singing along “I AM NOT THROWING AWAY MY SHOT” and I knew I was lost. I love a lot of songs, but some of my favorites are Satisfied and You’ll Be Back. I just love Angelica and King George πŸ™‚

Β What I Watched

Only one show: Gilmore Girls.

I’ve rewatched both season 3 and 4 this month (I already rewatched season 1 and 2 a few months back) and I am obsessed again. I can’t wait for the revival. This is one of those shows I can keep on rewatching forever and ever. It’s also the show I like to watch whenever I feel down – it always makes me feel better.

What’s on the August TBR

Thanks! Hope you’ll enjoy Blue Lily, Lily Blue and The Raven King! I just finish BLLB and I LOVED it! πŸ™‚ I both want to rush through TRK because I need to know everything and I want to read really, really slowly because I’m not ready yet for this series to end…

Thanks! Dream Thieves was amazing, hope you’ll enjoy it too! I have finished the Cursed Child by now and I loved it! It’s not as good as the book series, but I still loved it if only for sentimental value πŸ™‚

I actually loved The Dream Thieves even more than the Raven Boys! It may even be my favorite of the series, though it may be a tie with Blue Lily, Lily Blue πŸ™‚ I hope you’ll enjoy it as well!
I am back from my trip indeed – it was super, thank you! I went to Italy and visited Sorrento, the Amalfi Coast and Pompei and it was gorgeous – I wish I could go back already πŸ˜‰
