Tag Thursday: The Intergalactic Book Tag

This tag is based on the release of Starflight by Melissa Landers. Starflight is a fun and enjoyable sci-fi romance that came out on February 2nd this year. I already read it and you can read my review here.

Here’s the book tag:

Space

Name a book that is out of this world/that takes place in a world other than your own

The Demon King by Cinda Williams Chima

The Demon King by Cinda Williams Chima. This is the first book in the Seven Realms series which takes place in a world called… The Seven Realms!  It’s a fantasy world filled with wizards and clans and politics and it is so great!

Black hole

Name a book that completely sucked you in

Graceling by Kristin Cashore

Graceling by Kristin Cashore. This book completely sucked me in and then blew me away with it’s amazing world building, fast-paced plot and kick-ass heroine.

Light speed

Name a book that you anticipate so much you wish you had light speed to get it

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Because…it’s a new Harry Potter book. I’ve only been waiting for this for ages.

Nebula

Name a book with a beautiful cover

The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson

The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson. Actually all the covers in the Mistborn trilogy. They are so beautiful and look even better all together. And the inside is just as beautiful as the outside!

Multiverse

Name a companion or spinoff that you love

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell. Does this count as a companion or spin-off? It is based on characters (albeit fictional) that we get to meet in Rainbow Rowell’s Fangirl (which is also pretty amazing I must add), so I think it does.

Gravity

Name your favourite fictional pairing that seems to have a gravitational pull toward eachother

Damen and Laurent by arianwen44.tumblr.com
by arianwen44.tumblr.com

Damen and Laurent from the Captive Prince series by C.S. Pacat. I’m being repetitive here but I can’t help it. I am a woman OBSESSED! This is one of the best fantasy romances I have ever read and I can’t stop raving about it. I am this close to starting to talk to random strangers on the street to recommend them this series.

Big Bang

Name a book that got you started on reading

De Griezelbus door Paul van Loon

De Griezelbus by Paul van Loon. When I was a kid, I loved scary books. The Goosebumps or Fear Street series were some of them, but the book series I loved and reread the most were De Griezelbus series. (It’s a Dutch series that is very loosely translated as ‘The Scary Bus’). In this book a teacher and his students are invited by a famous writer for a special ride in ‘the scary bus’ where the writer tells scary stories. Just thinking about it makes me want to reread them again!

Asteroid

Name a short story or novella that you love

The Assassin's Blade by Sarah J. Maas

The Assassin’s Blade by Sarah J. Maas. Actually it is a collection of novellas that take place before the Throne of Glass series. Normally I am not such a big fan of novellas, but these ones are the exception! This book is so great: the novellas really give you a different insight in the character of Celaena Sardothien and her struggles before the start of Throne of Glass. It also gives you all the feels: I laughed, I cheered, I cried my eyes out. It was awesome.

Galaxy

Name a book with multiple POV’s

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugho

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. The only book with multiple POV’s I’ve read so far where I not only liked, but LOVED every single POV. That’s a big challenge but you can count on Leigh Bardugo to ace it!

Spaceship

Name a book you would name a spaceship after

Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver

Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver. I just think it’s a really cool name for a spaceship: “Launching Pandemonium in 3, 2, 1…”

I tag you! What would your answers to these questions be?
